One thing I have been wondering for awhile: Whatever happened to Azeroth? Those forgotten lands seemed strangely docile after the splitting of the world. I hope that this campaign will clear up the confusion and mystery. Note that this is still a forming idea. ____________________________________________________ After the splitting of the world, what indeed did happen to Azeroth? It remained attached to the land of Lordaeron through the mountainous kingdom of Khaz Modan. Life continued in the forgotten lands of Azeroth after the splitting of the world. A great reptile, the dragon Reshlota, who took shelter during the Sundering, emerged from his den and found the world scarred. He took under his wing his hatchling Elenasra and fled the barren lands, until he came upon the northern reaches of Azeroth. Beguiled by the torment of the land, Reshlota took upon himself the task of healing it. In those northern lands of Azeroth, to the west of the mountains, he built a forest. Literally from the dust Reshlota summoned life unto the desolate earth. The forest Elene, named for the dragon's hatchling, began to draw remnants of life to it. Years passed until the first sentient being appeared in the forest. A young mouse, emerged from the earth, stumbled into the forest scarred and beaten by the horrible nature of the outside world. It sought out Reshlota and flung itself before him. The mouse was given hospitality beyond his wildest dreams in Elene. This first life form granted the forest a sense of peace, instead of overwhelming stillness. Within two years, an entire burrow of mice had been dug. However, not only pure creatures were attracted to the bounty of the forest. Here enters the evil that remained unknown to all. It was not long before Reshlota awoke that a horrible thing happened. During the Sundering, an elven warrior was caught in southern Azeroth after the incident. He found himself lost in the earth, scarred and bruised. Within those cavernous areas he found nought but misery and insanity. Every day was hell. The elf was plauged by unseen entities, and haunted by the horrible creatures in his sleep. After five years, the elf felt the first tinge of hope. He found a gem, one of the magic gems of Ashzara, lost during the Sundering. It granted him great strength upon contact, and it fused itself into the elf's forehead. He felt larger, more powerful, yet different. His eyes were now suddenly able to pierce the dark and see what the naked eye could not. He looked down at his feet and saw nothing but black. He examined his arms and saw nothing but black. He was consumed then by the blackness. He began to deny himself what stangnant water he could find, and instead fed off of the gem. This elf named himself Ogroth'do, meaning dark lord. Ogroth'do felt then the first floes of magic resignating from the forest Elene. He tore apart the earth around him and opened a path to the above world. He spent the next years seeking out that forest. Long after the mice had come to Elene, there then came the birds and finally he which was not welcome, Ogroth'do. A small canary came to Reshlota one day to warn him of an evil being approaching. Reshlota sighed, for he was growing old, and decided to train his daughter in the powerful magics, so that they could stop that evil elf. It was one full year later that a searing fireball tore through elene, striking the dragon Reshlota in his neck and killing him instantly. Ogroth'do announced himself quite suddenly, by then firing a fireball towards Elenasra, who was roused and managed to dodge the searing missile. Thus began the battle for lordship over the power of the forest. Elenasra was clearly outmatched by Ogroth'do's magic. With one blow, Ogroth felled Elenasra. All seemed lost, but for the creatures of the forest. Elenasra was taken into the forest to be healed. Ogroth attempted to follow, yet found his way barred. The creatures of the forest stood defiantely against him, forming their magic into an unseen barrier that repelled evil. Ogroth'do never was able to enter, but he did the next best thing for himself. He established an empire, by forming soldiers and slaves from the charred creatures of Azeroth. This campaign takes place hundreds of years later, when the dwarves and humans have become established. Ogroth'do has long since been banished into the depths of the earth from which he came by the forest creatures, and Elene has spread to encompass all of Northern Azeroth. Trouble has begun, though, as the nearby dwarves have discovered parts of the forest, and the old evil may show signs of resurfacing. Control the Dragon Elenasra and the creatures of Elene as they attempt to push back the invaders and dispel the evil plauging their borders. Life in Azeroth depends upon their success. Anyway, i must say, that is one ncie story Intro. I never see that kind of work on these forums. My opinion, in short, is that it is great. Good to see some people still making quality campaigns. Also, I see only one thing wrong with your project. It is ambitious, a little too ambitious. Try splitting it up into 2 projects...it would make it much easier for you, I am sure. Please, I may have an offer of a more lively comunity and hosting for you when you need it. My contact Info: AIM: DivineRight87 EMAIL: [email protected] Thanks for your time, -Warbringer87 (I would have PMed, or emailed, but you choose not to recieve either) |

Haha, I thank you for your comments warbringer. I myself was worried about the size of the project. Such a large project would also make download time much longer than a smaller campaign...so....I will split it into two parts. Thank you for your offer, I will consider it. However, I have had a philosiphy that if I want something done the right way, I may as well do it myself. I have a website to host images and files on, but I thank you again for your offer and I will consider emailing you. Thank you.:ggani: |

I will now begin to explain each scenario in depth, as I believe I should form my idea completely before plunging into work without a thought about what I'm doing. Chapter One: Intruding Midgets Dwarf Bol Obreker led his scouting party just a bit farther across the barrens to make camp for the night. Their trek ended before planned when they came upon a large cliff, and what stretched before them under that cliff was incredible. Trees, thousands of trees stretched into the horizon. Some of the treetops were even moving around, roving from place to place. The gentle chirping of birds flowed faintly on the breeze, and there was a cool atmosphere to the trees. The dwarves, however, were curious for more sights of this forest. They descended the cliff and entered the forest. Frightened creatures fled before them, and the trees detected the intrusion. Long branches subtly reached out to push back the intruders. The dwarves did not go far into the forest before feeling a sense of hostility towards them. They fled quickly, being fearful of death. They returned to their base camp and found that their leader was now determined to enter the forest. You are in control of the forest as it must repel the dwarven invaders. There's a preview for you.:ggani: |

Ok dosho I help you model and skin. you convince me. |
| 10-26-2003, 04:24 PM | #9 |
Um, no. Sorry, you may not have realized that as of now I don't wish to have any help on this project. I may seek help with skinning later on, but even then I will choose an assistant carefully, not just pick somebody that says he wants to help. This thread is for the purpose of advertisement and criticism. |

Ha ha, nice try, but that only applies to advertising sites. Announcing a campaign is within the rules of this site, and I DID say that I will be asking for help later. I scoff at thee, goodbye. |

Good storyline you have going there, I'll be sure to keep watch should you post progress. |

I have a screenshot almost ready that has the dwarves overlooking a section of the Elene forest from a cliff, but I left it and the Chapter 1 progress on the computer I use on the weekends, so that screenie won't be posted until next weekend. Therefore, I've got to produce something, so I suppose I'll start on the Prolouge. This is fun.:D I actually will be needing the services of a skinner/modeler very soon. I can't seem to find a very good model for Ogroth'do as a good elf, though the priest or blood elf worker model might do. My only problems are these: If he had a staff like the priest, well heck, he could escape from the underground caverns of Azeroth If he had a pick, he could do the same. So....any competent skinners looking for work should mosey on over to this thread. Thanks for the support WhiteHorn and Warbringer. |

bye bye? that doesnt sound too good. where am i going? |

Good to see more solo people coming out these days. I am also head of a project, and I am basically soloing it. I have 1 skinner, and that's it (only because his skills are far superior to mine). The best team you have is yourself. |
