I realize that maps have a limit of 100 custom units (not edited units, but actually CUSTOM units)... I was wondering if the limit could really be total UNITs in the map, and not just the custom ones.. so if I delete (remove it from object the editor completely) a regular unit, would I be able to create another custom unit? Or is it really a "100 Custom unit" limit? |

I've never had this problem, nor knew there was a low limit to Custom Units. I have no idea. |

NEVER encountered this problem, but man...100 custom units, what are you making?!!? :) hehe I've seen td's with 6 different races, with 20 towers each and upgradeable, so I don't think that this is something everyone experience.... SO point of my post, I have no idea! :) |

first of all, like zach and doldrum said, i really dont think u need but all the 3rd party WE like UMSWE should break this limit, so try one of them :D |

I do use a third party editor, always have, currently my prefered editor is WEU. But there IS a 100 custom unit limit, but I don't know if WEU breaks that limit (it probably does). But the "Custom Unit Limit" like stated in the first post, does NOT count edited unit (like if you change a building in one of the races and make it something else) and that is why many TD (an other maps) seem to have so many custom units, its because they edit EXISTING units, so they aren't going to encounter the 100 custom unit limit. |

i never heard of such a thing....live 'n' learn.... well, if u have reached that limit, then, there's no other way than editing existing units.....and i don't think the original units can be deleted from the map.... |

Original units can't be delete? Grr.. that sux... And theres no way to "Paste" a unit over an existing one (which would come in handy if you wanted a couple units almost exactly the same, but slightly different), all you can do is Manually change all the fields.... emote_sweat :hm: I just got an Idea... Maybe PitzerMike can add the ability to paste over existing units to WEU... |

why cant you edit units? for gods sake you can make any unit howwever you want! if you dont use the crab critter, edit it, dont use wisps, edit them! there are allready 100-200+ units(or close to that) do you really need that many? |

yea like hunter said, you can basicly edit every unit to your perferred preference, your saying u have a problem, theres always a way to work around them and this is one of em, edit the orginal units, critters, creeps and such hell im wondering if you could edit the buildings to become units? isnt it possible? has anyone ever done it? hmmm someone let me kno that'd b interesting |

yes you can Uncheck the is building field |

Is there a point to asking "Why" I want this info? Telling you WHY is not going to help you solve it anyway. So WHY ask WHY? Maybe because I need 9 sets of 13 units that all have the same stats and every thing but slightly different. So I edited the first 9, that would still leave ONE-HUNDRED AND EIGHT units I need, and low an behold the custom unit limit is 100 so just copying those first nine and pasting new units won't work... PS I posted a reply to PitzerMikes thread about WEU asking if he could add the "Paste over" to WEU. Oh and by the way LiableSu5pect, like hunter said, yes you can make buildings units, you can make units into buildings too. Just change that checkbox (and the unit model if you wanted, I think a walking building would look wierd...) |

but what im curious in knowing is why dont u just change normal heros in the orginal and stuff and edit them to what u need, they would still be normal units to the editor, but in reality custom units...im confused as to why u dont do that |

Yeah... and you like editing 108 different units when you want most of them to be the same, when it would be easier to copy and paste to make the new unit almost exactly the same. |

allpainful i am sorry to hear about your problem. looks like you should just copy and paste all the units untill you get to number 100. than edit the last 8. looks like your only hope. but that is not the reason i am posting. the real reason i am wondering what in the world you are creating that ill need this many units? could you let us in on it? |
