Is there any way to make it so that the ground textures on buildings don't appear?

There's a bug that stops that from working - it performs an illegal operation when loading.

I never ran into a bug with that. I do that all the time, never ever had a problem with it.

If you have errors doing it that way then maybe there is something wrong with your WE or War3 and you should reinstall.

This option is not in vanilla WE.

I always use that, and I never run into a Fatal Error.

Never heard of that one. On my old computer I somehow got a bunch of compile errors that prevented playing after saving... loading after saving... and had a bunch of crashing when saving. It was terrible.

I'm using the vanilla WE that comes with the game right now and the option is there. I've used it more than once and it works just fine.

I still haven't run into a bug with removing ground textures..

But, are you editing a WayGate? If so then the problem might not the ground texture, a waygate will crash the game if it doesn't have a pathing map.

You can Edit waygates? I though that you could only create new buildings with the waygate ability...

I have edited waygates before, and I have also given units the ability waygate.. both WILL crash the game if they are without a pathing map...

Waygates are "Nuetral Passive" buildings (meaning they are in the UNITS portion of the object editor), and they ARE listed in the object editor of WE.

You have to PLACE the unit FIRST, then you remove the pathing texture, if you do it the other way around you will run into a fatal error.

Um... ok... I was talking about in the object editor, not in game.

But if you remove it then the player could build another building ontop of it becuase there is not "Can't build here" pathing, you should CHANGE the pathing to one that is unbuildable...
