Hi, I know that I may not be an experienced map developer but I will try this anyway. My campaign is a RPG wich holds alot of oportunities for what you want to do. I am currently not done with thinking of the maps but the base story is nearly done. One thing I am not at all good at is finding names, so if anyone have a nice name for a pandaren hero wich is kinda mystic, please tell me. The story is about a pandaren ( duh! - ) whos mother and father got killed by a force of orcs. He stays in a foster home until one day he desides to go out and find the killers of his parents. Features: - Turn Based Battle System: Many people have this in the're maps but I personally like it and want to have it in mine. Also I have planned for many spells so that this would be a great pluss. - Backpack System: You have a backpack with 6 different pockets ( or what its called I'm not that good with english ) wich houses different items. Example: The Main one stores Weapons and armor you are not using. Also one of them is a Secret place, when you die you cannot lose any items that is in here, however there is limited space available ( did I spell that right? ). -Good, Evil and Neutral: What you choose to do in the first few missions will affect things that happen in the future, what spells you get, your allies, and much more. Who you are allie with can also change after that, if you like kill the main leader for a race. ( quite obvious don't you think? ) -Food and water: Just like in real life food is needed, if you don't eat then you will be hungry and grow weaker and weaker, finaly if you go too long without food you will die. The period before you begin to starve is long. Water isn't that important but when you drink water you gain a small regeneration bonus. Also you can fill up potions from a water source and then drink it. There you have a nice list of the main features in the campaign. Hope you can tell me what you think. I have some spell ideas for the pandaren but they are not complete so I won't release them right now. By the way, the pandaren is a inteligence/agility. And there are different types of spells: Evil-, Good- and Neutral spells so if anyone have any ideas they are welcome Regards KyoZic |

Well Shark I wasn't planning on making it all by my self. I currently have some people who I think will do some things. If anyone wants to help me then they are very welcome ( especially modelers and skinners ). |

Voted number 2 I think it's ok, but it sounds just like Legacies: Tides of Serpent. Lots of the features aren't "new", though the turn based would be neat :) Go for it I'd say :) |

i like your storyline. the whole parents killed story. i'm not too sure if it fits in with war3 tho. i'm saying i'm not too sure not that it doesn't because i actually have no clue. but anyway i think you should go ahead and do this. sounds fun and i would give it a try if you did it. just be sure to give it a deep story line. don't just do well orcs kill my parents now i must avenge them. make it deep. |

Zachery: I haven'y played Legacies so I haven't copied anything. Supra: Well I hope to get some ideas from you guys too. Why aren't you sure if it fits in Warcraft 3? If anyone can model or skin and is willing to join me that would be great! All feedback is greatly apretiated, and please tell me what can be better about it. Nothing just gets perfect in a second. |

ok nice idea, but ull neva guess what, im starting a pandaren campaign too. But mines not a RPG mines more like a warcraft3 campaign. I can skin easily but depends on what u want doing, coz ill ive skined is the huntresses hall with wooden walls and black roof and the druid of the claw is a pandaren mage, hes got white skin and gray fur does look cool tho :ggani: 8)), im hoping i can get my campaign on the (just start) progects list so if i do u could get some ideas from there |

Argh. Please tell me what you like and what you don't like when you post. It gives me an idea how to make it better. Bun-Bun: Well the pandaren are a very popular race according to my knowledge, although this "RPG Campaign" won't be entirely about pandarens. Although it is a RPG there is still some maps you may be able to command a army and build a base. |

to elaborate more on what i was saying i was saying i'm not sure if it fits well with war3 because of the orcs slaying his parents. i know orcs are bloodthirsty but i was wondering did they ever have a problem with the pandas. of course even if they never did it would still work but i was just being picky at that particular moment. couldn't think of anything else to say really. oh and btw you should advertise in the thread in my sig. lots of people post thier map ideas there. good place to get some attention. it is stickied at the top of this forum(map development) |

Supra: Well In the first map you might get to know that they were under the control of the scourge and the pandaren encampment where he lived was in the way. They just ran in and slougthered everyone. You only get to know this if you pick the good or neutral way to payback, if you take evil then you just storm in and kill all, becouse you find their base ( It was right on top of where the pandaren encampment was ). Ok I will give you some more points by advertising in that thread. |

Sounds really cool, I like the food/water part but it might get a little annoying while playing (I always got so made in everquest when I ran out of food/water at the wrong time). Good luck with it though, battle system will take a lot of work but if you put the needed time into it, it should be really fun. |

Well it will be a long time between you eat and when you get weak. ( About 2-3 days, wich is very long becouse I might slow down the time. Water isnt that critical, you need water from time to time, but that probably will be like that you have to drink one time in 5-7 days and when you get thirsty it will efect your attack rate, your movement speed, hit- and mana point regeneration. I myself don't know that much of how to create the turn based battle system, but I will try to learn or else I will try to get someone to do it for me. |

Ok I have currently started working on the beta for the intro, I will try to get some screenies up by tommorrow. I am still working on it, and I still need models for it. But I will take that later. Anyway just informing you all about this. |

The Pandarens, as a race, I picture as animals. Like the furbolgs, with human traits and intelligence but still big bear people. So, I didn't vote because I was unclear on what you had intended for the race to be. I wouldn't like it if you made it like a brewmaster =P (Not that he isn't COOL or anything, just overused) But your storyline is good enough, and I haven't had any experience with this "time based" combat system so I can't comment about that. But if it's TURN based, that would be really cool. |

Man, I want a turn at making a Pandaren race-based map, too. I've seen it done a lot, or at the least, weakly incorporated into maps a lot. But, Pandaren's are so cool, it just begs to be done. Can you outline some of the plot ideas for the different directions that your character can take in avenging his parents? You might consider grabbing and using the TFT beta Brewmaster model. It's a little more Japanese instead of Chinese in appearance, and it has a naginata instead of just a pole. It's a tiny bit more serious and more deadly looking of a model. Then again, adding models is increased map size. Keep posting stuff as you update elements of your map. Tell us how the gameplay triggers are going and how your plotline is developing. |
