Before you think this is going to be .hack, it isn't sorry. :) This was inspired by .hack but isn't. I don't wanna type a huge paragraph, so i'll just do this bullet style... I'll explain each feature in detail below. Features: -Simulated MMORPG with NPC 'characters' -Saving and Loading (Maybe, I can't script this myself so i'll need to find someone to do this...) -Active Time Battle -Pretty terrain -Span across other maps Simulated MMORPG with NPC characters: Basically there will be computer controlled players with basic AI that will be going around, slaying monsters, visit towns randomly and perhaps even try to PK you. :) IF I can get the saving/loading thing to go, the NPCs will automatically be set to be around your level for balance reasons. You will be able to kill these characters and steal there items, as they can to you. :) Saving Loading: Basically what most rpgs are doing... passworded saving and loading. I'm not making any promises here, but hey if I could find someone to that would be greeeaat... Active Time Battle: Don't expect anything like TKOD here, this is a very simplistic active time battle. You basically gain action points represented by wood over a period of time, and need a specific number of them to perform actions. You use the arrow keys to navigate through a menu similiar to that if Super Mario RPG. Multiple Maps: Since this is a 'simulated mmorpg' it will have to span across multiple maps. Right now the grassland region is being worked on. Though it may seem like a lot of work, the way I made the triggers makes it portable to import/export easily with little modification from map to map. When I do the triggers, I keep this is mind. Pretty terrain: It may not be COTD, Zurg, or some other badass terrainer out there but itll be good quality. ^_^ As some of you know, I have a bad history of incomplete maps but!! this I believe is an exception. I mentioned some many months ago about working on a secret project. This is it. Though it has gone through many remakes, revamping it is still going strong. :) Completed: Triggers- 20% Done the active time battle system, and NPC players just need to add some skills to the ATB and quest etc etc... (adding skills isn't hard, it's just that I need ideas!) Terrain-20% I have it all drawn out on paper and most about 20% of it in the world editor. There are a lot of doodads but most of them are just pathing blockers. Will they lag the player if there are a lot of pathing blockers? :S Units/Classes-??% The four starting jobs are Warrior, Thief, Mage, and Archer. They will branch out to other jobs. Each class can only use 3 spells for use in battle, and the rest must be stored to be used later. This is a ?? because i'm leaving the addition of new classes open. Now before you think "it's just another RPG scam where a guy post a lot of features and than gets other people to actually do it." It's not. I am doing ALL the terraining, triggering myself (except the saving loading thing.. if I did it, it would be too easy to crack. ^_^) All I really need is a 1337 trigger-guy to make the saving and loading for me when I need it, and figure out all the variables that I need to save etc etc. Other than that, I don't need help. Suggestions for skills, gameplay ideas, and such would be nice. Oh yes, IF you want to create a map (any size) where you can load the characters (when needed) to be played on feel free to. This map can be a simple arena where you can duel your heros, or a small island. BUT please do not send me your submissions until I am done the map or even work on it for that matter. For the chance I don't actually finish this I don't want you wasting your time. :) The idea of this is simply so that a miniature world can actually be created map by map in order to form a large MMORPG-like world. Also, for those who remember my dead Night of the Living Map (http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...he+living+dead) from along time ago I have decided to do that again also. Simply because my friend who heard of this project is doing most of the work, haha. I will post details of that later, it will be the same idea. Okay, thanks for reading. I will not fail in creating this map.. I swear. :( Oh ya, you'll probably want a screenshot... Yes I am using the glue screen trees, they're much prettier than normal ones. I stole them from DK's map. :( Sorry DK, I don't know how to extract them myself from the glue screen. :( Comments, flames, suggestions, whatever. :) |

the terrain looks good, MMORPG with 12 players ? :p the ideas look good except the starting classes...there should be 8 minimum.... try reading about FR (Forgotten Realms) to find out more about classes.... there shoud be something like this: Fighter, Sorcerer, Wizard, Ranger, Druid, there should be thiefs but...that one will be hard to fix :) etc... |

Actually itll only be 6 PLAYER characters per game. :( I can only copy and paste each trigger for use with each player so much before I go insane. I plan on releasing an open source version of the map some weeks after the initial release. I only hope people will improve upon it rather than rigging it. :( Also, I am aware of the abuse that may come with the saving / loading thing so I will do it like Legacies where you only get your password after quitting. Though it would suck if you got dropped, this is the only option I can think of. Maybe if the next patch comes out midway developement through this map and supports map cache we can avoid that. :D Thunder-Hunter: sorry dont have aim :( |

Just use PMs, I visit daily and check my PMs. Anyways, here is what is going on so far... As some of you may know, FFXI comes out tommorow. :( Sadly, I'm afraid that will consume most of my time, HOWEVER! This only slows down the production of the simulated MMORPG, which is planned for a december release. The NOTLD however (as it is being worked by my friend too) is scheduled to be released this week-next week. I am very optimistic about this release date. :) For those who were looking forward to my previous NOTLD map this one is much better. :) We are trying to push for a release before Halloween, but that is a small chance. Anyways, i'll update you all on some screenshots for the NOTLD map later tonight. |

Sorry for the double post. Here is a screenshot from the revamped NOTLD map I am working on. This is one of the first cinematic you will encounter during the game. Yes, this map is Multiplayer and you can play with up to 5 of your friends! enjoy. |
