Should I make a terrain tutorial to help ppl doing better terrain? I have a lot of tips and would like to share it with the rest. What do you think? |

No, I don't think any tutorials for terrain is needed. But if you have many tips and all then you could always post it in threads like these. |

Don't, how to say, but the terraining technicisms aren't difficult to learn. But Terraining as an Art is impossible to teach, (You can't change people's likes) Just create a Terraining Tips Thread, or add some to one I've seen last week |

Yes I fully agree with you Lord Vexorian! You can't change people likes and dislikes. (It seems you asked to change your color of your name as well eh Lord Vexorian... is there a thread somewhere where you can ask it?) |

i think that if you want to create a tut you should. i voted i don't care because i don't need it but if you want to you should. a lot of people come to this forum asking for a tut on it and i think it would help the noobs. or atleast shut them up. |

Hm... a terrain tutorial wouldn't work very well. It'll be just like an art tutorial for photoshop or something. It only teaches you how to make whats in the tutorial, like painting clouds or something. All you'll be able to see is someone else's work, and them telling you how to make that exact same thing. Just terraining tips would work. Like tips on how to make natural terrain or cities, stuff like that. Make a new thread and have everyone contribute their tips, then make another thread and compile all the tips everyone gave in there and sticky it. |

Im really bad at terrain, and even i think that you cant show someone images through words. At least not better thatn Showing them in person. So a NO 4 me |

terraining is design.....and you learn that in school "art general 1-2 or art general 3-4" depending on where you live. making good terrain is a form of art, and takes various artistic skills (which im a bit lacking in that department). same with doodads. and i dont think a tut would be very informative, as terraining is, like vexorian said, a honed skill, not a learned art. it just takes practice. |

There is no real tutorial for terrain. How I learned to do terrain was look at others, do it myself, change what I didn't like and tada. The best method is pratice and experimenting on your own. What I do however, is I draw the basic outline on paper first than translate it onto the world editor. I find it works very well because I can plan it a lot better. |

The only thing you COULD write in a tutorial is how to place Bridges right and Waterfalls. That is probably the most important thing you could write in one IMO. |
