this is just general help asking, nothing in perticular :) all the files that says downloaded are downloaded from campaign creations.... 1)AI can someone explain that AI - send order (0,0) thingy to me ? when i make the WAI file, should i import it, and do a triger like run that.wai for player x or the WAIs can only be used in AI editor ? 2)Skinning i've downloaded some skins (.blp) files, and what do i DO with them ? import and then what ? 3)Moddeling i know that drill, import the unit and unit portrait, but i'd like some help around that too, just to be sure :) What to do if a unit doesn't have a portrait? 4) Attaching swords/glows etc... well, i've got that part covered, i made an ability out of Item bonus fire damage that uses the part i want to "stick" to the specified spot.... the only thing i'm interested here is this: i want to attach them thru yobguls, but the yobguls editor says he needs some data, so i put it in my WC3 dir, and when i start it, it starts my TFT game....and when i want to start WinMPQ, it says error reading from a file ? WTF ? As we all know, heros have some glowing weapons...i'd like to attach glows to weapons, thus making a realistic hero model... can i "stick" two models thru one firebonus ability at the same spot (eg, sword and glow), or i have to do that twice ? sword, and glow.... 5)Tools troubleshooting i need tools to extract certain models from the game, but since my WinMPQ doesn't work (i dled everything, VB runtimes, the whole Winmpq.zip or exe whatever) and it says "Error loading from file" what gives ? when i downloaded the yobguls file converter, i only found the War3FileConverter.exe and War3.exe .....i'll try owerwriting the file, but most likely, it will start my TFT game.... what tool should i use for model editing ? -------------------------------------------------- well, that's the questions, try to answer as much as u can cuz i really need it, and all who reads it will benefit from it....plz don't spam :) |

Re: I believe that refers to the button it orders the ai to press, and for button positioning hers a handy ascii chart I've made. button pos is easy... -_-_-_-_- I_I_I_I_I Y=0 I_I_I_I_I Y=1 I_I_I_I_I Y=2 X X X X 0 1 2 3 Import the files, then set them as models of the units. Or you can modify the skin via the maps mpq, as seen in here Import the models protrait as well, it can be found in the mpq next to the standard model :) You could just use a trigger (attach special effect to unit) for the second, or another orb (I believe you can have multiple effects on one att point on a unit. Whatever 3d editor you can get your hands on. Urgh, hope I've helped a little. |

well, in every map of the campaign it says Send AI Script to player or something like that (0,0) and i don't think that it is the button position of 0,0 cuz it is the move position :) as for the trigger adding custom effects on units, those effects stay when the unit dies but has reincarnation....so i don't want the earth to shine and have 2 floating swords until the unit brings back to life....:)))) OH yeah, and i need all of the target names like origin, left hand, right hand, head, chest....if there is any more, plz post them up :) |
