I am new to the spell/ability eddintg so I am wondering if there is a way to change what the model for frost armor looks like after it has been cast on someone. In the WE it doesn't give any options i see to change this so not sure where to look. Any help is apriciated.

Thanks,

*cough* this is why I delete posts recommending TFT instead of plain, simple SLK editing.

Search for the <race>abilityfunc.txt file in the War3x.mpq file, using WinMPQ. In frost armour's case it should be under undeadabilityfunc.txt. Extract that file, and search for the frost armour entry. Change the buffart to something that LOOPS (e.g. cripple art, faerie fire art). Save it and import it back into your map, and make sure the path is correct (it should be units/undeadabilityfunc.txt)

Thnx for the reply it works but now I have another question. Can I still edit the name, and other spells that have to deal with the undeadabilityfunc.txt, or will it just change everything back?

Thanks

For editing the names, you need to get the <race>abilitystrings.txt file. If you want to edit any of the undead skill art, you can still use the editor, provided you make a custom copy and you don't edit the original undead skills.

Thanks so much, this was a big help. Now I understand how to edit abilities a little more and enough to get through what I am working on right now, but ill be back with more questions when I get to that part of my map.

Thanks again,
