Just got Cinema 4D, have a problem

I am new to modeling so don't get to big on the terms with me please.

As stated above I just got Cinema 4D thinking that it would be good for modeling. As I have been informed I was wrong. Oh well.

Can anyone out there tell me where to start? I know I need something to convert the .mdx's so I can load and edit them. I keep seeing things about "scripts" but don't know what they are.
Could somebody get me started please? Thanks.

Scripts are little subprogram type things that can do whatever one programs them to do that run in 3d Studio Max or Gmax. You should start by downloading Gmax if you want to use them; 3ds max costs several thousand dollars.

Thanks for the explanation. This is making a little more sense. I'll see about getting Gmax.
