it just has to be possible, how do i make a units move speed go over 400? in the game constants, max is 400, what file do i have to extract to change it? i searched in units\micdata.txt and ui\miscdata.txt, didnt find n e thing :bgrun: can anyone help?:( |

Thats its base until then it cannot be changed....so ur gonna have to make an aura with no animation ,i dunno or prehaps triggers? notice the Bm when he uses WW its like 500 :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD |

no offense but you obvioulsy no nothing asbout this, even with auras there movement speed cannot go over 400, the only exception is WW and it goes to 522 or something, i need to know what file stores this limit and change it |

Jim, you get -1 point for being mean. But just dont be mean to people ok? |

There really is no need to post about rating a person if you're not actually going to contribute to the discussion yourself. In any case, as yet no one has gone over the 400 speed limit, save for the unusual case of Windwalk @ 522 (ie. There's no known mathematical significance for why the limit is set at that particular number) which was built in by Blizzard itself - which you've already mentioned. I wouldn't be rehashing this to you expect to certify that it is the only known way to go above the limit currently. All reports indicate the value is hardcoded. Perhaps using some method of DMA you could determine the precise memory location for this stored value, but I doubt it. And even then you'd likely need an external program to inject the data. ~kharma |

Ouch, so i suppose that pretty much limits really quick objects to using various edited versions of windwalk, eh? There's also a minimum speed, right? Not that i can imagine a need for anything to move slower than an ancient lumbering about... |

I can't understand why people always use windwalk as you can go much higher with ordinary move speed upgrades |

can u edit the "Boots of Speed" ability ? what i mean is, can it go over 400 with that ability ? |

Why do you need to have a character move that fast anyway? You're almost reaching the point where you would be better off teleporting or blinking instead. |

Why make some that fast? Why not make everyone else say 50 slower than the unit that has 400speed will move very fast compared to other units. Are their no items that increase movement speed by a %? If their is you could use triggers to giv the Unit the item and have their movement speed increased by say 100% making it 800 not 400. IDISacredIDI |

"The Reason for Fast Units" For scaled units that are extremely huge so they could actually move like they have long legs that they do. or Missle units that can be shot down before they hit someone. Like in the Metal Marines maps. |

World Editor Unlimited sets the maximum move speed to 9999999, also I have a flying sheep with +1000% move speed endurance and unholy auras, and it does go faster |

The only ability that will boost you over the speed limit is as bwood has said is WindWalk, I think the number is 531. YOU CAN WITH SOME file manipulation (not actually be able to play on b.et) set the max speed up to 531, any more and animations get really screwy and it may cause a crash, the selection circle not fallowing the unit, and the look as if hes running backward. |

Or you adjust the units animation speeds accordingly as well |

There simply not meant to run at that speed. Thats what bwood said. WHich is why the cap is there, not because the people at blizzard wanted the game to play at a snails pace. |
