Ok I’m thinking of taking up skin editing so that I can create some unique looks for my maps. I was wondering what tools I would need, I’m downloading Milkshape3D again (used it a little in the past, and yes I know it’s for model editing not skins). I’m also downloading Java MD3 Model Viewer, I’ve never used this before but it should be able to open the WC III models. As for skin editing what paint style program should I get? (Needs to be freeware). Also where can I find a tutorial that’s worth using (no offence to those who wrote the ones on this site but I don’t feel like they go into enough detail on what you’ve got to do exactly). Any other advice on Skin editing/model editing that you think is relevant please post it! Thanks in advance IDISacredIDI = Edit = Attach any files that you think are needed, also im only using WC III RoC NOT TFT. |

I don't think this is the right forum for you to ask this, but I will try to help you. First, you need some way too extract the skins you want to edit: Warcraft 3 Viewer is a good program, which can also convert the files to TGA, the format you are later on going to edit. Suppose you could extract the files with a MPQ viewer and then convert them with some other program, but that just seems like unnecessary waste of time, not sure if W3 Viewer works for ROC, but it should work fine. After that you need some program to edit the skins, Photoshop or Paintshop should work fine for this. Then you just have to save the file as a 32 bit TGA file, and convert it back with the same program you used earlier, after that you have to import it into your map, with the exact path of the skin. If you do this you can't use the original skin in the same map though. |

Go to the nearest computer shop, and buy Photoshop (I didn't write this: Get WINMX and dl from there) Secondly, go buy TFT, making skins in ROC is a pain in the b*tt! :) |

Just go to Adobe.com and download a Try Out for Photoshop. It's free for 30 days. |

http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/main.html You seen the price? Yeah its fine for people whos mum's and Dads run round and buy things for them but thats way WAY WAY too expensive. I think some of the kids on these forums need to learn the value of money, $650 converts roughly into £450 thats more than my full household earn in 2 weeks! http://www.adobe.com/support/downloa...atform=Windows Eeeek look at the size that will take me months to d/l. Their no smaller cheaper proggys that can do the same job? IDISacredIDI |

You can also use a program called "Kazaa" (Just a name I just invented), to like, get the program without paying for it. It's kinda magic. Of course im not suggesting pirating, that would be illigal!!!0_o |
