Just started playing with the Map Editor (today actually) and was going thru a beginner's tutorial that mentioned saving a defiled temple as the theme of the tutorial map I should build. Couldn't find a temple! In doodads, props, structures, NOTHING. I looked under all tilesets. I found a cathedral but that's too big. Found a bazillion (OK, it was 7) High Elf farms. I just want a small temple to put near a cute little graveyard so it can be defiled. So WHERE the @@#$ is the stoopid temple?? I searched this forum on temples and only found references to a particular existing map. Thank You for your help! |

Do I just use another building and CALL it a temple?? C'mon, you guys are the Masters! You must have some idea about this! It'll only take a minute to reply!! PLEASE?? *gets on knees and begs to computer monitor* :( |

Ya, I gave up on finding a temple and just made a small village instead. But now none of the triggers work! I'll be digging into it a bit more before I squawk for help on that tho. The tutorial was VERY basic. And unfortunately the person who wrote it, wrote it as tho it was NOT to n00bs! Fortunately I've messed around in StarEdit and wasn't a complete n00b so I understood most of what he was saying. :p That said, his triggers didn't work. :( Rest assured, if I can't figure the problem out... I'll be back!!! ;) |

Guest | Temple of the Damned is the Undead building that Necromancers and Banshees are trained at. It's on the 2nd row, 2nd from the right of the Undead buildings. If you need a primer tutorial, try mine at http://www.dom.lordaeron.net/tutorials/ |

Thanks DrunkOM. That tutorial looks to be just what I need to get started with triggers!! :D |

Hey DrunkOM (or anyone else), explain this one to me... I downloaded your Tutorial Mission and went thru the entire trigger tutorial (GREAT JOB btw!). Once finished, I wanted to test it out and see it in action. I hit 'save'. I came up with over 1000 compile errors and it disabled ALL triggers. Test ran with NO triggers. :( Deleted file. Unzipped original. Tested it, it worked fine (love the cinematic - good, basic, well explained). Tried to 'save' again in World Editor (in case maybe during the tutorial I did something to it) and it came up with the 1000+ errors and disabled all the triggers! Now this doesn't make sense. Obviously, you had to save it to make it available for download. It compiled fine for you and didn't disable the triggers. Why can't I save it?? I'm using the editor that came with the game Version 4448. The other triggers I made are probably OK, it must be something screwy with my editor? |

Guest | Does it give you compile errors with any other maps, or with a new map? |

YES! My brand new map that all I tried to do was make a victory trigger. Over 900 compile errors. |

Guest | Try reinstalling, don't use the crack if you bought the game. |

Thanks Again DrunkOM. That did it. I'm gonna miss not having to wait for the CD tho! (I had a no-cd crack installed). The thing is, I am a programmer for Zoo Tycoon Unlimited and am constantly answering n00b questions about Zoo Tycoon and re-installing is the FIRST thing I suggest peeps do! Boy, I guess you're only really a n00b if you THINK you are!! I'll have to go kick myself in the arse for the next few hours!! Thanks Again!!! |
