Skirmish RPG a.k.a Warbands.

Well, here goes. A quick summary.

The Mod will take micro-management to a new (fun) extreme with low unit limits. However, it will be a step up from the likes of many RPG maps that restrict you to one hero.

You start the game with a choice of themed characters, as you'd expect of an RPG. Each hero will not only be unique from the next, but will have its own further options of recruiting and creating 'henchmen', units that accompany your main character in game. Henchmen will themselves be heroes, in order to gain their own experience, and better their stats and abilities, albeit much more limited than your main hero. We currently have planned 2 heroes per 'group', and have concepts for 5 groups. So that gives you 10 paths... and then some.

The initial map will be a large town setting. Once each player has selected their hero, and have their allocated group, they will be placed at their starting areas within the town. Each player starts with a 'base' struture, that is invisible to others, and cannot be attacked. This base is used to recruit henchmen, and resurrect your hero. A spawning zone if you will.

Throughout the map will be neutral buildings that offer choices of generic henchmen, low level units, items and expendables. As you gain money from killing enemy units, and mini-quests, you can spend your cash on such goodies, and improve your units.

So, then, after you have a good feel for building up your small force of individuals, and have killed a few willing creeps and beasties, you will want to step into the bigger arena. Two choices of gameplay will be presented at game start. You can either play a co-operative game with other players, purging the town of respawning creeps, and completing quests (oh, and of course the mass invasion of computer-controlled monsters). Or, you can compete against the other players in an unmoderated free for all.

Sound good? Read on.

The mod/map is intended for battlenet play, so I will not be throwing in dozens of custom models and modifications. However, I fully intend to skin any unit neccesary to fit particular themes.

Being a highly unit-customisable, and varied RPG, I am looking to include many custom abilities, skills, and spells.

Define RPG ideas and experience...

If its okay, I'd love to be a plotter.

Well, both Warcraft RPG making, and generic Role-play experience.

Plots are good, but we're wokring with mini quests, and optional plots - not a major plot, other than systematic raids on each town.
