New RPG idea, assistance required

I am curious as to how many people would be willing to create an RPG together.

I don't mean, work on one map with a thousand people, but have many maps created by many people that all tie in with the same storyline. I've got several ideas as to how to make this work, but I would like to have everybody's input before i do anything about it.

It would end up being something like a tree of maps for people to explore each one having some sort of ranking system to determine a player's hero is too high or too low for a level. I have heard that there is a new save hero function out there somewhere. If someone could point me in that direction that would be great. I'm planning on starting with a one player version, and may later develop more.

i was thinking a sort of FF type RPG, since everyone seems to like it, and it covers just about every aspect of any RPG game.

theres already alot of people who jumped the gun on this idea.

So maybe instead of starting another one, you should join a team who already started, so they could get theirs out faster. I think the number guy (32838583) whatever his numbers are) is starting one.

Question. How much experience do you have with modding? If low, hang around for some time, get to know the ways, gather experience, and watch your ideas change. Best thing is to join an existing mod, and help out until you are confident yuo can do work yourself.

If you have a fair amount of experience, then you need to make a plan for your mod. People won't simply sign their name up after you post 'I'm thinking about making some RPG'. Show that you are organised, and have put a lot of thought into it.

When you have a plan, and have decided what you want to do... then you should post a team gethering thread with a summary of your mod. You need something that people can visualise and will appeal to them. You should also state what skilsl you are looking for from people.

Modding? enough to say i'm not a newb, not enuf to say i'm the best. And i've got enough functioning brain cells to be classified as an intelligent speices (can't say the same for the lot of us).

As for joining another mod, i'd would be perfectly happy doing that, in fact i would be more than happy doing that. I would have made plans and told people all my ideas, but i hadn't really put much thought into it yet. I was hoping to finish my current project, i just wanted to know what others thought of it. However if someone has already started the trend then thats all fine and dandy :).

I realize that planning is good, and that catching the attention of others is necisarry to complete this idea, but i wasn't too concerned about that just YET. Thats all.
