While looking over the forums, I realized that there are absolutely no boat re-skins. Well I've decided to change that with my "Blood Elven Destroyer." The skin is based off what I think is the Frozen Throne beta destroyer. I tried to give it a blood elven appearance by incorporating certain symbols and colors. I'll admit sections of the sails are copied from the spellbreaker skin, but the planks lining the hull of the boat were all made by me. It took a lot of time to get the right effects with photoshop, but I'm pleased with the results. I'm sure it could use something more to improve it, so tell me what you think it needs. |

try patch-tooling over the eye (cnp a chunk over eye then patch edges) so it doesnt look like a face! looks good overall! |

I see what your saying about the "face" on the sail, and it might look better if I blend the eye section into the rest of the mask. As I said earlier the red mask section is from the spell breaker, but I adjusted the colors and contrast levels to make it stand out more. I'm not so sure that a more metallic look would work for this model. The Elves are supposed to be more of a mystical race than a technological one. Thats why I stuck with the wooden boat design. I think it would look better if it could somehow reflect the whole "addicted to magic" theme. The problem is I don't know what to do to give it that appearance. |

Well I don't think I'll be working on this skin anymore, so I'm finally going to put it up for download. The .zip file contains the two .blp files, and two model files with the same names. I modified the .mdx files so the skins are both read from the textures folder. So the paths are: textures\ElvenDestroyerShip1.blp textures\ElvenDestroyerShip2.blp It really doesn't matter where you save the models. The first file corresponds to the first picture and *surprise* the second corresponds to the second design. BTW tell me if anyone decides to use either of these in a campaign. . . It will make my day.:gsmile: |

i like the boat part (not the sails) they look really good. please dont point and laugh if thats the bit you didn't change! I dont use boats often...:( The sails scare me0_o |
