W/E crash, look at pic

CajunGoddess	HELP look at pic i cant do any thing with it.. how can i fix this?, it crash when i click the abilities button :( :( :( :( :(

that could maybe bee this...o you have Warcraft III on harddrive D: or E: etc...becuse if u try to do neew spells and you placed it at harddrive D: and not C:......then u cant do new spells....dont realy now wy..but that happend to me to..and i installed it on harddrive D:...ow i have it on Harddrive C:...and now it works..

EDIT: i now why now...its becuse it cant open abilitydata.slk and data1 or somthing like that..

I know EXACTLY what caused this... Hold on and I will edit this post in a minute...

EDIT: (This is copied from another post I made for a person who had the same problem)

99.9% chance the reason it crashes is because you have an ability thats race is set to "Commoner" or "Critter".

The reason I am so sure is because it only crashes when you goto that tab.

It would only crash on the "Units" tab if you had a unit that was commoner or critter.

The only fix is to export all the object editor data (obviously you can't just export the abilities because you can't get to that tab...), open it up in a HEX editor (NOTEPAD WILL NOT WORK! Notepad corrupts the file on save.) and then change all instances of Commoner or Critter to say "Other", then reimport it into your map.

ALSO NOTE: that if you export it and then try to reimport it without fixing it, then it will cause the same crash while importing..

PS: If your wondering how I know this, and how I know the fix worked... Its because I was using "Commoner" to organise my unfinished abilities a while back and ran into the same problem.. I asked for help here and NO ONE could help. All anyone would say was "Known Issue" or "Check blizzards forums its a known problem" instead of helping, I had to figure out how to fix it myself...

EDIT: Also note: here is the Known editor bugs list (on blizzards forums).

And if you don't have a HEX Editor, just send me a PM and I will send you the info on how you can send me the exported file and I will fix it for you.

AllPainful	The reason I was using the was to keep the Object Editor organised. I like all my spells in one area.

AllPainful	Happens to me alot.. :...: People just tend to miss what i say... LOL PS. On another board you mentioned the length of my signature, I agree that it is too long, and I will be working to shorten it with-in the next few days.
