I want to add a hero with the storm crow form ability (the ability of night elf druid of the talon) in my game. The problem is that when the hero used the skill, it seems to become a usual storm crow. When it turns back to night elf form, it becomes a mixed form of the hero and a normal druid of talon: with hero's experience and abilities, but druid of talon's life and damage, and no mana at all! *faint* Anyone know how to make a hero with the storm crow ability and can retain all its attributes after using the skill? I really like the idea of that hero and don't want to delete it. :( |

Guest | Unfortunately, that is a glitch that sometimes happens if you use any ability that requires an "alternateex" animation. The only way I have found to get around it is to keep my hero and transformed models and interface models the same. |

I'm using Keeper of the groove as the template and Druid of the talon as the model. No problem during the transform, including graphic. My problem is it turned my hero with "keeper of the groove" attributes into a usual druid of the talon after it transform from crow to night elf form. |

Guest | I've been playing around trying to get your problem to work. So far I've been having very little luck but I have noticed a few things. 1) The Crow Form ability under the abilities list turns you into the Crow Form of the Prophet, not the NE's Druid of the Talon. 2) The first time you transform into the Crow and back you will have negative dmg values and 100 hp. 3) Further transformations will have your dmg in the positive (2-24 for a lvl 10 DH and 2-12 for a lvl 10 PotM) But all stats such as Strength will be at 0, which is probably what causes the low stats. I think the reason for this is that the Crow Form is not a Hero and therefore has a Strength, Agility, and Intellegence of 0. It does not have the same stats as a Druid of the Talon however. I'll be doing a bit further experimenting and I'll post what I get for my results on this thread. |

Guest | I think he means Storm Crow Form, not Crow Form. Crow Form is only used by Medivh, and it is even more glitchy then the other forms. |

Well i know what you mean. And i think i have found an ok way to do this, although it wont work exactly like you want it to. Here is what you do, First give the hero the Metamorphisis abillity, next go under night elf heros and change the model of the demon hunter in demon form to that of the storm crow. Now yes the hero will need to be level 6 to use it but it does work and there are no problems that i have found with it. |

when reverting back into the hero's main model, it will keep the storm crow interface icon, even if you dont change the demon form's interface icon... someone told you could fix this by using a trigger to give the unit to another player then back to it's original owner. |

Make the storm crow a hero, there was a post here about how to do that (make normal units heroes) |

could you link to that post? :) i could need that too but can't find the post you are speaking of |

First of all, thanks for all the helps!!! :) Quote:
Where can I find the post? Though I expect it'd require editing the mpq, etc. This would be a problem because I want my map to be playable in multiplayers, though it sounds like this method could be the best solution. Quote:
This would probably work. Unfortunately, my map already has a demon hunter and this will probably make it to become a crow too..... :( |

Before I left home, I was trying a method by replacing the normal druid with a new hero when trigger detects it was just transformed from a storm crow. It seems to work, although with some graphic flaw during the process. Another problem is that it looks like the hero was automatically deselected when turned from a crow to nightelf form using this method, as it was actually a new hero. And the "selection function" is so buggy that it doesn't specify the player. Can anyone tell me how can I solve this problem? Of course, please tell me if you know of another better way to make a hero with storm crow ability! Thanks a lot! |

You should take a look to the map "Curse of the wolf" from Wulfbane (warcraftiii.net forum). He uses two separate units that "switch" when spell is cast. |

BTW, I'd also like to point out a bug in case the others don't know it yet. Somehow the "ravenform" and "unravenform" of the druid of talon cannot be detected by the event "unit issued an order with no target/targeting a pt/unit", so are Medivh's similar abilities. Therefore I'm using a periodic trigger to detect if the hero has changed form now. |

Thanks. Actually I posted a similar post at warcraftiii.net and Wulfbane told me about this already. ;) I'll have a look at it immediately when back home. |

Here's the post I didn't read it carefully the first time, so it might not do what you want it to...(lets you create heroes based off of normal units, there might be something there) Anyway, if I understand the problem correctly, a hero will go into storm crow form, and when they come out of it, they have 0 for all their stats. If you really need to use storm crow form for some reason (can't do metamorph or something) you can use triggers to set the hero's stats upon exiting storm crow form. (but in order to do that you need to know what their stats should be at) Or you can do what other people have suggested... |
