One small warning...

As you might have noticed the old postcount system has been replaced by a point system, where you can spend your points in for certain priviliges (don't ask me, I didn't'come up with that one). This triggered a certain marketism where goods are offered in exchange for points (requests being fulfilled)

This is good in one way (more active in the request forum, acts as impuls for people to move their butts and do something) and bad in another (people are getting a little "demanding" for points). There was even a case where people shamelessly trying to pringle points out of others with other people's work (that are even available in the downloads section for holy christ [insert other religion applicable})

Expect some rules to be inforced sooner or later. In the meantime be sure NOT to make a mistake like this one!

Btw: we DO have a request forum located here!! Ive seen too many threads that absolutely don't belong in the models or skinning forum. If I ever see a request topic in models section again, Ill delete it on sight (for skinning someone else will take care of that)! Expect a cleansing to be hold in the next few days

I'll help as best as I can to keep this kinda crap from happening. I myself have a large amount of archived work that was publicly released by people. And I am quite familiar with all of these works, so if I seem to 'recognize' something I will report the post.

i 100% agree, its one thing to sell custom made skins for points, but quite another to attempt to fob off other peoples work for points. If points were money and this was the real world then that is illigal and can have you put in jail. Only difference here is that people who do that kind of crap should be banned, i'll be sure to report anything like this asap.

I can't belive he claimed that skin. And then at the end of the post he kept on spamming after being warned.

Though this point system is being treated like gold on Go-Gaia.com. They have spam, but its kept to a minimum by making a forum exlusivly for it, so people can spit off all the nonsense they like for gold. Its less relavant here, seeing as the subject matter is much more focused...so perhaps a better coarse of action would be to use a total word count sort of thing? It wouldnt solve the problem, but it could help.
Only give points for X number of words within X number of posts, so if people prcrastinate for words, the spams a lot more obvious, making it easier to deal the punishment (less controversy)

Personally I think that a point system is just as bad as the post count system. But I don't care about either. How much do some points or some posts matter? To me not much.

this point thing is good but, on this forum its causing more trouble, with people paying too much attention to what is spam and what is not, soon it will get to a state were its no longer fun to post because your worried on whether you will get warned for spamming because people think your trying to higher your points :bgrun:

its a good idea but i think it will cause more trouble than it is worth, this forum is after all for modding wc3 and having fun with doing it, this ay give a totaly new meaning to posting on the forum

Has the real REP said anything about it? if s/he (i dont know) really was REP, they would sign in as REP and post 'im such and such as another name.' WHAT A FOOL! :D
