Install the Art Tools w/o 3ds!!!

Hey guys duno what use this will be but heres how you do it:

Create a new folder in your C:\ directory called '3DSMAX4'. Make a new text document, and rename it to '3dsmax.exe'. Now create a new folder called 'plugins'. Download the art tools, and install to the default path.

Hey, i tryed what you said and it, uhhh, told me 3DSmax wasn't unstalled there, what's the problem?

It worked for me =P ..... did u do the .exe right?

I copyed and pasted all the names he gave me and it won't work, i say install, i agree, and i hit install again and it tells me i gotta install it in the same folder as 3DSMax. Maybe he mispelled something?

Hmm what good are the art tools gonna do you without 3ds? I suppose you can read the pdf..

Well, it doesn't work, for me, nothing like this never works for me, skinning, modeling, even a lil hacking on games like CS, never worked.

For those of whom it didnt work for, you most likely are messing up on the exe part. So just for you I've zipped it for you, so you dont need to worry yourself. I've also put in some extra files so it will create the subdirectories for you. Just extract it to your c:\ drive.

1st of all, i was thinking it would be a program in the world editor...not something i would need 2-4 thousand US$ to use, just to tweak my game.

2nd-Why do you want the art tools...if you cant use them? Or can you use them? I dont know, stoned has a point

It installed, but you can't open it now, because it's not a world editor tool, I don't have 3dsmax studio to open it or whatever...I don't know.

I'm also very dissapointed unknownMOD(er) :(

Oh well, we can move on, it is just an advanced art tools which would make us famous world wide, richer than bill gates and pools made out of gold. I mean we can recover, right?
