This is a simple tutorial for people mking flying heroes...

When you make a flying hero they usually fly over cliffs... but to change this make their movement type from air to float... They can now be very high in the air but still not capable of flying over cliffs...

Sadly, Animation - Change Flying Height triggers don't work for floating units. You can also use path blocking doodads, although it's annoying to have to put path blockers at every possible point along a cliff face.

What do you mean... the animes work fine if the unit is set to float... Try it...

I've only ever gotten that to work with fliers; common belief has it that only flying units, and not hoverers, respond to flying height animation changes.

Hrm. I'll check that out.

I was saying things like Gryphons and so on... set their fly movement to float and it works... did for me

The they cant fly over cliffs... less work then path blockers...

Oh... we're talking about different things.

Animation - Change Flying Height literally alters the elevation of the unit off the ground. By itself, it has no real effect, but you can do cool things with flying height, making it fun to use with flying heroes.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure (still drinking my tea this AM, otherwise I'd be up for map making and not just lounging about, chatting) hovering units don't animate with this.
