ok, i just wanna know how to change a regular unit into a hero... |

There is no way to directly transform a regular unit into a hero. The best you can do is take a hero and change its stats to match the unit. |

actually, you can make a unit transform into a hero using an edited bear form. just use shift+enter to allow you to enter raw data in the WE and make the bear form a hero. make sure you give both the hero and the unit the skill so you can transform back and forth (IF you want to allow them to transform back and forth) |

If you mean more like in the editor, making a unit type into a hero, just get a hero and change the model to that unit, then set the stats and all. If you mean in-game then you want to use the unit described above plus a replace unit trigger and any animation to keep people from looking closely at the transformation. |

Hmmm:knife: i keep looking for it but have not found anything in the object editor for unite where you can set stats of unite hero to true,, the only stats is-unite classification that i can see and you can only set it to something (giant, summoned, town hall) and hero is not one of them.. i guesses am looking in the wrong place. please tell me where to look thanks |

A: u need to have frozen throne for that option B: its not in unit classification. i'm not sure if its under 'stats' but there are two things in there, probubly close together, that you can set to 'True' or 'False'. The field you need is 'Unit is hero'. with a normal unit this field is set to 'Flalse'. if you set this field to 'True' it will otomatically make it a hero. (the same is possible with buidlings, btw) |

maybe ur blind... i'm sure its in there, i've used it before. but if you really cant find it, create a new custom hero from a hero, and give it the units skin... thats not that hard is it... lol |

It might be easier if we had a screenshot. It is possible that you are thinking about hero abilities. They can be set to a hero ability or regular ability. |

hmm.. that might be it! |

This post is pretty old, but it goes along the lines I was looking for, so I'll ask my question here. How do you put a hero glow onto a normal unit model? I thought I could do it with special effects, but I couldn't find it. I know someone had said how to do it before but I can't find that thread. I don't have to do it with a model editor, right? Isn't there a special effect path? Thanks for at least reading this post. But if you know, please tell me. |

It's possible through a number of manners, just check the downloads section on the main site, someone has created the hero glows as models that can be attached like SFX. Here ya go, HeroGlow models. http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/f...le&file=888&s= |
