"Making Your Work Free" Question

Um, guys, 50 points max for a map?

You got to be kidding me!

Good maps take at least weeks, if not mounths to make! Please change it so those thrown together crap edits get 50 points max, and REAL maps as like anywhere between 100-500(500 for very, very good projects such as Gods The Ledgand)

Considering you get props on the map (or should, at least) for your contribution, I'd wager the 50 extra points are just a cookie. After all, you're contributing to a map, that in itself should be worth much more to you than 50 points here.

I was just wondering really. I just saw that modles r 200 yet take 1/20 of the work most of the time. Just in case it was an accident:D

Models are pretty easy to make. Animating isn't hard either. You just have to learn how to do it first. ;)

I don't get why people are so desperate for points.

After getting stuff like special glows, wtf is their purpose? I hope the people on this website will realize that points eventually mean NOTHING.

This is related to selling your stuff. If you submit it as a free item, you will get way over that amount. But then again if you just submit a map that took 2 seconds you wont get ****.

Oh, ok I must have misread it...

Plasma, I (along with Zackery_Shadow) was one of the strongest oporsers to the point system, or at least the barter crap. I just want that glowing name so bad, :P:D

Wow, being noticable on a bloody WEBSITE! Yay!

Like it really matters if you can be noticed on a website. How about you get off your computer and actually go out and get noticed in the REAL WORLD? Yeah, all you have to do is go out your door in to the real world with people you can talk to in person, real money which can be used for more than buying a few glowing bits of data and other marvelous things. You should visit the real world sometime, you might even like it.

I'd much rather be noticed IRL than to be noticed on a stupid website. People here treat points like their life. I just don't get why anyone would want to devote themselves to points so bad.

Yeah, I have to admit that the glowing name would be nice to have, but I'm not going out of my way to get it. I'm not becoming a spamming idiot or asking points for my work just to get a few more points to help me get a glow around some text. I have better things to do than to waste my time here.

The glow looks nice, that's why I want to have it, I am already noticeable in the site though...

I guess that the rule depends on the map / model / skin you submit, it is not like you'll surely get 200 points each time you submit a model.

I am not a spamming idiot neither I sell my work, And I am getting points for being useful, I guess that I would have more points if the repository attachments could be rated, actually the point system is only giving its benefits to people that skin even if the skins are crappy (check the top 50 richest persons, most of the guys that have a lot of points are skinning people, that sux (ignore Draco he owns the bank)

Also please if you really want to sound serious when you get against point system don't come with the words bring posts back, if ever they take out the point system, better they don't make post count come back either.

I wonder why they revamped the rate button, it could be better if normal posts could be rated from -1 to 1 , and posts with attachments from -1 to 5.

I am not spamming or anything, I was making an honest observation, and as I previously said, I just misread it.

how about people just make things for free and dont charge points, now wouldnt that be a nice thing to do... Im happy to make maps or skin or anything like that for free I dont need silly points to encourage me

People that did stuff for free Are still doing it, I am still helping on triggers and posting stuff in the repository, and there are still people doing things for free out there.

People that are charging for points now I just people that didn't do anything free for people tha weren't their friends either

I am not requiring points for my maps, ill making them anyways, but if there are rewards for helping, I was just making sure they would be balenced, that was my purpose here.
