I made a custom image on Paint. Saved it as War3MapPreview.tga. The attributes for it are 256 by 256. I inserted it in the IMPORT MANAGER putting the custom path as War3MapPreview.tga Some how the preview image does not show, it just shows the minimap. Any ideas to make it work for the image preview please reply. Thanks |

It still doesnt work man... Do I have to use a specific program to make a tga file. Because i only used paint and then renamed the images to .tga . ........... I also tried exporting the war3mappreview.tga from monolith map, but I cant open it in paint. |

Don't use TGAs, they are much bigger, like BMPs, use BLPs, BLPs are based on the JPG format and is much smaller |

I had heard that for some reason a .blp wasn't appropriate for the map preview. Can someone confirm or deny that for me? You definitely need to have a specific program to create .tga's. A .tga file is not just a .bmp with a different extension. Most people around here seem to use Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro for image editing. Both of those can deal handily with .tga's. If you don't have the money or connections to land some of that (expensive) software, try looking for shareware image format conversion software. |

the correct filename should be war3mapPreview.tga (its CASE SENSITIVE) war3mapPreview.blp will not work unless you have war3mapPreview.tga in your map first. war3mapPreview.tga replaces the icon that you see when you join, host, or selects your map. war3mapPreview.blp replaces the minimap pic during the loading process. (I am right, because, my avatar used to be my war3mapPreview.tga but I removed it to save file size. More proof can be found in the link in my signature(it shows my war3mapPreview.tga)) |

Paint can't save TGAs. Your tga is acutally a bitmap with the tga extension. Get a program that can save files in tga format. http://www.jasc.com/ Paint shop pro? |
