I need help!

And I hope i'm in the right forum for this. Battle.net forums couldn't help me so they re-directed me to here.

But I am having problems with Blizzard's World Editor. My computer meets all the minimum requirements but not the recommended and I think thats where my problem lies.

But basically what happens is the World Editor will tend to freeze up or go to a blank screen.. and I have tried all the steps Blizzard gave on their support site to correct this. Can anyone help me out?

If not, can maybe someone point me in the direction of a link for a alternate editor that gives me all the same options the original does, preferrably one where I can mainly edit units on the map, since I really don't care what the terrain looks like (I only play single player anyway).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh and it doesn't happen with regular Warcraft III, just the World Editor

make sure it's not maximized !!!!
just size it to fit your desktop by 90%.....
if u understand, if not, here's the more detailed steps :)
just resize the bottom part of the editor (click resize) and drag the bottom part of the editor up by an inch or until u see some animation playing (units, water, anything)...
my english is kinda bad, so i hope u'll understand it :)

btw war3 is much more "system requesting" than worldedit, but worldedit can be "requesting" sometimes....like if u'r making a huge map with dozens and dozens doodads and units...
but nothing beats the last nightelf campaign level :)))

Well it'll come on and it takes no longer than any normal program does.. When I edit terrain, it does fine.. but with units I get some black spots on the screen but nothing really bad. And just at certain times it will either freeze up or go to a black screen, caused sometimes in the terrain editor, sometimes in unit editor.. so I really dunno what's going on with it.

Are there any alternate Editors available where I can edit terrain and unit placement without all the animation and such?

Nope. There's a stand alone unit editor, but nothing that can make maps.

Is there a way to turn off the animation in World Editor that I haven't seen yet?

I am pretty sure now that it is my processor, it surpasses the minimum requirements but not the recommended.

But if there was a way to disable animation in it then I think it would be fine.

Now I really think now that its just my processor.. and I guess all I can do is get a Pentium III 600 Mhz or higher (I have Pentium II 450 MHZ right now)

Unless there is a way to disable animation that someone is hiding from me!

My editor works just fine with my 600 MHz, but takes almost 30 seconds to load. If yours loads as fast as any other program, then it may not be loading all the files it needs. I'd try reinstalling it, but you've prob already done that, huh.
