Losdef Progress Thread!

Hey all....
I started this thread to hopefully consolidate all of my questions and all of your comments. Thus not littering the boards with multiple threads. My other thread is here if your interested on where I started, but please do not post there.
Working on my First custom model. It's a standard DnD Bugbear. I reduced him to 400 polys (the Grunt is 411, so I think I'll be safe) and started animating. Finished stand, stand2, stand3, and stand4. Working on a stand5 right now. After that I'll move onto the walk. The method of MODing animation is very similar to the way it was in Freedom Force, so things are coming along rather smoothly. I'll post some progress shots tommorrow for those who don't have (or don't care to download) VET. I have some questions now....

1) The tools don't allow IK at all? Is there any other way around this besides the key-baking I previously mentioed? I find that the method actually will SAVE me time in the longrun due to having to painstakingly line up feet bones/boxes frame after frame after frame for mediocre results from FK-only legs. The only slow part of the process was changing the bones BACK to bezier postion and TCB rotation controllers one at a time....but today, I created a script to do that. So the automated snapshot + the automated bone controller assignment processes add up to less than a minute total....but I AM only at 300 frames at the moment it might get alot worse when I add those decay anims at the end. What other options are there?

2) I have yet to see any negative results from unwrapping my model as I've always done and collapsing the stack then moving on. The readme states that you should NOT collapse the stack. How far down the line in the total process from scratch to final in-game custom unit should I expect to be before something visually goes wrong?

Still gots plenty of work left, though. Still hafta figure out how to do the decay anims, and finish up that texture....But for the most part, I'm happy with the progress I've made in the last few days.

Wow, very nice job! Model is smooth, textures flow, and it looks like the animation (what i take from teh stills) Is very fluid! Very nice job, keep up the good work :D
