Tell me if anyone would play this campaign.

I have come with an Idea for a campaign, it would consist of realy cool cinematics and a whole lot of AoS maps. The enemy heros would have several different AI scripts that they would follow so they didn't just charge at the enemy every time.

I thought about this while playing Dynasty Warriors 4, which is essentialy an awesome AoS on PS2 with lots of kung foo moves.

I also thought about having a unit of bodyguards to follow your commander around and well guard him, you will not directly control them so you don't have to worry about where they are when you die. They will go up levels and learn new abilities at the same time.

The basic Idea will be to eliminate the enemy general on each map but I intend for a lot of things to happen like fires, rains, floods and other nasty tactics.

What you think?

im saying that dont make this a hack n slash like u got like a huge army ya ya ya then u got like 9 heros or somtin and all of them just fight in a place lol.ppl will play this lol just make it good lol not bad lol

I don't know what Truearkx is getting at, but an AoS campaign? An interesting idea... there could be merit in that... AoS with plot. I admit, copied and maligned though it is, AoS has a lot of great features. If done well, it could work very nicely. It could be a lot of work too, but aren't all campaigns? I say go for it, I'm interested to see more.

[edit] Ah, I forgot to mention: The bodyguards are a nice touch! I think I'd love to see an AoS with that feature for sure.

Ok then I have come up with an idea for the first map and have started planning it.

There is a barbarian hill fort (on top of a hill) that needs to be taken. You and your men have set up camp at the base of the mountain and the first assault has begun. Realizing they are spam in a can the barbarians charge out in an attempt to push you back.

A message arrives "Take the fort at all costs". This is where the AoS part kicks in, you are a champion (a hard assed footman) who has been sent to spear head the attack along with his bodyguards and an almost unlimited supply of troops. The game will be fashioned in true AoS style guys running down the hill and more guys running up the hill. There will be two enemy heros and you.

As you progress through the game and you level up your hero will change from say a Champion >> Commander >> Templar >> Grand Templar Knight.

I am curius if using the music from dynasty warriors would be a massive copyright infringement. I have it and it'd fit this perfectly.

Yes it would be a massive copyright infringement, but no, I doubt anyone would notice and get you in trouble. Worst that could happen is they ask you to take it out. More likely it'll just make people who know DW wince because they recognize the ripped music. That does not include me, BTW. So yes, it's technically illegal to do without the owner of DW's permission, (whoever they are) and I should probably tell you not to, but the truth is it's not worth their time to hunt down one little guy making a WC3 mod who's misusing their music.

Why does everyone call it ds warriors? I won't add the music (even though it would be so kool). Here is a scree shot of the Barbarian hill fort, the tents are barracks and the villagers are brawlers and have the same stats as a grunt.
