i'm still new in such map editing i've got a lot of questions that i hope someone care and answer this : 1. how did you all guys could have the picture or snapshot from a map, how did...??? 2. how did you there someone could make such a new model? how?? 3. could anybody explain to me what is the base function of the variable? 4. can i reduce the gold or hit points of hero or unit in game by using triggers? if i can how? 5. will be continue.... |

1. huh? what kinda of pic are you talking about? 2. they take up too much file size, I would not recommend it unless its for single player 3. there are tut that describes what a variables is, search for it. In short, a variable is a place to store info, you can retreive that info for later use. 4. to reduce gold use player properties triggers, add gold to xxx player. to reduce HP use set unit properity to value/percentage. 5. ....... |

I think I understand the questions... 1. You mean taking a screenshot? Just hit "Print Screen" on your keyboard any time Warcraft III is running to capture a frame. You can do it as many times as you want. The game stores them in a directory so if you installed Warcraft to "C:\Warcraft III," the screenshots are saved in "C:\Warcraft III\Screenshots." 2. I can't help you with this, I know nothing about modelling. You could try the modelling forum for some tutorials and maybe some tools. 3. There's a good explanation of how variables work in the World Editor's Help, actually. It goes something like this: think of information as a bunch of shaped blocks - different kinds of information are shaped differently. A variable is like a box you use to store a piece of information - and like the blocks, variables have their own shape, and will only accept information of the right type. 4. To reduce a player's gold, use the "Player - Add Property" and add a negative number to the player's Current Gold. To hurt a unit directly, you can either use "Unit - set Life (to value)" or "Unit - set Life (to percentage)." If the unit is killed using these actions, though, no experience will be given for the kill. There are ways around this but they're a bit complicated to list here. Good hunting! |

thanx for all of your answers even some didn't help at all (guess who) i understand 'bout the answer from 1-4 but not the number 5. :ggani: About the variable, i think it doesn't necessary as the trigger cos i realy don't understand why using variable if you can make it directly at the trigger? for Hezza 'bout the language do you understand this : "sayangnya kurang banyak orang yang mengerti bahasa saya di luar sana" question: 6. how do i put glow for heroes? with trigger or by editing them?? explain it to me if you really understand. 7.1 how do i convert the unit so ican edit it at 3d max???? 7.0 how to use 3dmax?? i just get it 3 days ago but my brain seems will be explode if i open and learn how to use 3dmax with those sucks tutorial from 3dmax 8. i see there's some maps that use trigger by typing such "function#*% %, WHAT IS IT? explain if you understand! teach me by mail if you want by the way until next questions gotta lot of duty need to be done. |

You shouldn't need to convert a model anymore - the new art tools Blizzard released are supposed to allow you to import, at least into version 4.2 of 3DsMax. As far as how to use it, I'm not much of an expert there. All I know how to do is to grab points and stretch them/shrink them, mostly to remove parts of models, which is pretty easy. Tell ya what - I'll work on a tutorial. |

your tut can not solve my problemmo, want to know why? because i really blind about 3dsmax. check question #7.0 there were said i was bought 3dsmax 5.1 in my country by illegally, but if you told me to use photoshop or freehand i could do that. for ligature : i can not find print pictuce or take snapshot key at my keyboard. yeah next questions: 9. what is JASS ??????? 10. i forgot. |

The hit points can be edited in the object editor no triggers needed just look for Stats- Hit Points Maximum (base) this is to edit the HP of the hero and for the the image you must buy these for 5 points at the shop at the main forum cost 5 and you can upload whatever image you want. |

please help me i download tiger from dl section and i try to skin it whit white tiger skin but it didn't show up, i already change the path and save it but still... WHY? then the kmk's script for importing mdx are not working with 3dsmax 5.1 is it? if they r working how? what should i do? |
