How big a campaign would you download? Single-player, so no B.net limit... |

size doesn't matter.. in fact, the bigger the better (rawr) Perhaps if I had a dial-up or something, I would be more concerned... But I think most people have broadband of some sort nowadays. |

I agree with the above post. :ggani: Size isn't important. It's how you use it. I would play either really short campaigns or really long campaigns, depending on whether the story/maps/triggers kept me interested. I'm not interested in a kill fest with suped up skills, I'm interested in an innovative challenge. Then of course, I'll usually fail and end up cheating. :D But anyway, yeah, space isn't important. It's how you use it. |

I put <10 MB - unless you're going to all the trouble to record custom speeches for everybody, I can't imagine why a string of 5-8 maps, many of them melee, should require more than 10 MB. I'm much less likely to mind 10 MB of good map, but 100 MB triggers my "Oh, gosh, I only have 6 gig on this drive, time to clean!" primal computer instincts. |

Ya i would think that there is not limit for most people if they have cable or some other fast internet connection. But i dont know how u would use up more then 25 mb and i think u prolly woudnt need close to that much unless its really huge but if it was for bnet then it should be smaller |

Nice avatar bproman. Anywayz, back to topic. The size seriously doesn't matter, being a campaign and all, as long as it is good, I would go for under 15 MB. I am still waiting for the RotD though...Damn Darky and his crew...Making us wait! Well, here's the site for the RotD forums and stuff. http://www.wc3sear.ch/rotd/news.php Anywayz, Darky has voices and models and icons and lots of special stuff, that's the reason why it's big, the jass spells are pretty cool too with the effects and all. The map is very nice and it's cool with the voices as you need not read it like the other boring maps. :D |

For me it seriously doesn't matter at all. Even if it was be 200 MB then I would have downloaded if it would be good. If it has to be so big then keep it that way - removing skins and other custom stuff just to cut down on the size wouldn't be too much of a good idea IMO. BTW Right now my campaign has 70Mb with custom skins, icons, some edited models, 15 missions (not including interludes) and what takes up most of the space - custom music. Without the custom music it's about 40Mb. A good idea is to make two versions of a campaign if it has custom music - one with it and the other without. Martinez |

If i download a Map like CotN, then Size doesn't matter because i know, i get a very cool Map. If i download s.th. which i don't known, then is the Limit around 50MB... MfG B~L~ |

The size doesn't matter at all. In fact, I think that in most cases, the smaller it is, the less quality it is. I would download a 750 MB campaign if it had custom music, custom voices, awesome maps, custom skins, models, loading screens and was VERY well done. However, if it's a campaign that's 100 MB and it totally sucks, then I think I'll pass. But in most cases, bigger size = better quality. |

Like everyone said, it depends on how the campaign is. If it is a bad campaign and it takes 100 MB then I don't want to download it. Well, perhaps I'll download it just to rate it. Most of the time, the custom music/voices make the file that large. Like someone said, people should release 2 versions. 1 With Custom music and voices and 1 without it. Just IMO :D |

i personaly dislike any custom voices and music....the sound won't make it any better if the storyline is crappy :) anyone played WarHazard ? i didn't like a single map in there.... and the first one - cinematic, has a 5 minutes long custom speech about some guy going to buy some bread ? (WTF?!?)...the campaign could have been like 10 mbs without the needless (i don't think this word exists, but i guess u'll figure out what i want to say) sounds, music, loading screens etc... a good campaign can have only a few custom models and skins to look great, if u use them wisely....ofcourse, the storyline plays the VITAL part in every campaign, so, the more complex and interesting the story, the less u'll have to worry about tiny details like cinematics...i mean, the final showdown is about to happen, u've played the map for 50 minutes, u'r on the edge of u'r nerves, and a soundless cinematic won't hurt that much :) all i'm saying, i just have to find a storyline that will keep you playing, with sudden events and unexpected things, without too much introducing....it's better to "get to know" the main character thru the game, like that he was an not-completely-average guy, then u find out in fifth chapter that he was the prince of blabla rather then saying "he was prince, he fled"... am i right or am i wrong ? i guess 25 megs should be the top for a campaign, but i would download to 30 :) also, i would love to see a campaign that happens at the same time the original WC3 campaigns happen....anyone played the Bonus Orc Cmpaign ? it explains how the trolls joined the orcs and kinda introduces the danger from the depths :) (aka nagas @ TFT). back to the original idea, the story happens paralel to WC3, and be specific about it, like a scout comes and says, "yesterday the undead have taken the loarderon", or "the human prince has gone missing" etc :) and make them cross paths with some of the caracters, like Jaina...the prophet just told her to go to kalimdor, and suddenly shes there :) u could find her somewhere cuz her ship has wrecked and force her to help u by saying u'll help her out.... that's about it, i hope it helped out a bit :) |

heres what i advise u to do make it as small as possible by removing voice any unessesary things to the game and having that as a small version for people who just want to dl it quick or have a slow modem then put in the good stuff for the true gamers who aprecitate that kind of stuff |

Ineed. I agree, check the map, if it looks #%&*ty then dont do use it. Otherwise jsut make it a smaller version and make it suck more or less.:ggani: :ggani: :ggani: :ggani: Ineed.
