i think ultimate jim had a good idea so now we can do the contrary what makes a map good... 1. plot that makes sense. 2. protected 3. custom map preview 4. custom abilities (atleast edited buffs etc.... don't need to use triggers all the time.) 5. ORIGANAL TITLE OMFG I HAVE SEEN OVER 20 types of "MAUL" maps |

6. Orignial Idea's 7. If you are making a map which is like another say that you where inspired by that map so that people wont accuse you. And dont lie about that either. 8.Anything that incoperates a good idea succsefully. 9. Actually checking your grammer. 10. Making it instresting 11. And fun also. 12. Multi player and single player support (somewhat lacking in some maps) 13. If your gonna copy triggers then give credit AND do it correctly. |

Sorry, Hiya, this is a particularly useless thread. It's been done over and over on this forum, like this one and ultimately I'd argue it affects nothing. If you have a useful tutorial on what would make maps good, like the handy, "Making complex maps simple" stickied at the top of the Map Development forum, then I'd be interested in participating. Otherwise, this thread will only serve to push threads with actual ideas down the chain. |

RePlayability. |

To protect or not to protect... I don't protect: 1) It can be broken by the people most likely to do the most damage (eg: make a map that has decent replay value, so it will spread with the damn noobs name) 2) Not protecting it leads to variety, which is good. 3) I want to get credit, but if some stupid noob thinks that he can get famous in WC3 by stealing maps, he's not going far. 4) Only a total idiot would try to steal one of my maps since I never finish them. |

Protecting? I'm sure we wouldn't see that many Mauls around if Wintermaul was protected. |
