I'm having trouble following Magic's tut on "ripping" sound. I followed the instructions but when I select "Wave" (Mp3 doesn't show up on my list) it records nothing. Then, if I select "Record Master" it records the sound, but you can hear static-iness in the background. Can anyone help me out here? emote_confused Thx. |

Hmm. What version of Windows is this? I'm working with XP and I'm not certain it's identical to others. Selecting Wave - Mine is 'MP3/Wave'. And you have went through Options>Properties, clicked Recording and then Close? (Some people may end up in the Playback settings, not recording) Static - Is it a 'clean' rip? As opposed to the computer recording the sound through a microphone. Also try 'ripping' from several programs (Or just play a sund file in Windows), rather than trying it in just one program. My last suggestion is to try all of the options on Recording Properties (You can only select one at a time, of course). |

I'm using XP. I did go through the steps and went to the recording things. And, like I said, first off, my "Wave" was called just "Wave" as opposed to "Mp3/Wave" and the only one that actually lets Goldwave pick up the sound I'm trying to get is one called "Record Master". I'm thinking the static may just be my speakers...maybe...it's just that when I hear the same sound from the source, it sounds clean. It's only after I record it that there's some level of static. So...I dunno...maybe my Windows XP and/or my speakers and/or my comp is retarded. Thx anyway. :D |

Hmm. Wish I could help more. Perhaps look for some freeware audio programs that can rip for you. BTW, is that Homsar's hat as your avatar? :D |
