Yesterday I was babbling like an idiot on this topic, i'll admit it. FIRST LOOK AT THE MAP. The demo map I put out earlier last night wasn't very good, either. There was really no noticible effect. I've now upgraded every paladin ability to be effected by synergies. The method I used is as fallows: I give the Paladin a placeholder ability (My faviorite is a custom Healing Ward Aura ability). A trigger checks if he learned the placeholder ability, if it did it increases the quality of his spell by a "level" amount. Another trigger checks if he didn't learn the placeholder ability, if he did, then the quality of his spell is increased by a "synergy" amount. I use a 2d array which defines the each version of the spell, and its variants. Theres a problem with this method though. I create 24 abilities for every 3 level spell, and 8 for every ultimate. Does anyone know of an easier and less copy paste intensive way of doing this? Before you say Upgrade spell levels, please check out the bug list on battle.net forums. You'll note that Custom Upgrades which effect spell level do not work, nor do those applied on custom abilities. Yes iit sucks. Pros of my method: Stupid Easy. Requires very little triggering. Cons: LOTS OF COPY & PASTE Cooldown is destroyed when ever you spend a point in an ability. |
