What Causes Crashes

I'm just wondering what causes a custom game to crash (yaknow, and the computer's all yelling stuff like "Couldn't write to 'memory'", except with more swears and stuff) cuz it really makes me feel bad when my computer yells obscenities at me, and I want it to stop. See, I'm writing a test for a custom game, and it's running at about 1/8 how complex the full game will be, and right now you can pretty much only go 5 minutes before it crashes. So I thinks to myself, I does, "Is this becuase it's trying to write 2 variables at the same time, or just cuz there's too much action goin down?" Or is it something completely different? You decide, and together, we can stop computer-user bullying in our lifetime.
