Hello, I'm making an open RPG and I'm having a bit of a dillema. I want you to be able to store your items, but with the text password system (such as the one used in legacies) allows the users to dupe items be trading them and returning to their old password with the items still on him. I was wondering if you guys had any idea how I could let people trade without this happening? This seems like an impossible problem to solve. I'm fine with making items untradeable if I have to, but to let people trade would be preferable. |

Correct me if im wrong, but if the reverted to a former save, wouldn't they not have the gold or item they sold it for either? or did you make item codes seperate? if you did you sould rework it into a single code or it will be so easy to dupe item, you can do it with your eyes closed, just like in gantlet! *lets all give a big hand for thebestofdabest!*://// hehehe |

Nonono, it's a multiplayer map. They can give gold and items to other players and revert to their former save, and now there are now (for example) two swords of power +12 instead of one. |

uhhh, just make it so you can only load when the game starts! hasn't that been common sence since Legacys came out? That is the easyest way to prevent duping.I was going on the impression that you had to load at the start, therefore to reload you had to join another game. |

That still doesn't solve it, because you can give the items to your friend, he gets a new password and you both leave the game. Then you use your old password and your friend uses his new password so you both have the item. Its kind of important that they don't do this because the game is going to be several maps long (IE you can play on different maps with the same guy). |

Oh My God, you are really parnoid arn't you? Of course someone can dupe things if they really want to! There is absolutly no way you can spot anyone from duping items if they really want to dupe them. Look, if someone is dertermaned enough they could hack into your map, paste tomes of power everywhere with their name on it.and your worried that people will get orginised to dupe swords *sigh*:hm: :...: |

I'm not paranoid, it's easily done. Hacking into a map isn't as easily done and if you are good enough to do it I don't think you'd be worried about warcraft3 maps anyway. I was simply asking if there was any way to stop this because if not you won't be able to give other people items (big woop, it just would of been an nice addition). |

Actully its quite easy as there is an unprotecter floating around somewhere, as long as you can read JASS allright, its easy. Or is you get the oscubisfate thing on heavylocker not to curropt your map, but from what I heard it always does. what exactly do you expect could be done anyways? |
