I had this idea a few days ago, and I though it would be worth making. Heres the "stats": ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Basics: -3 teams -Each team has 1 Economist, 1 Tactition, 2 warriors -Can dynamically trade and form alliances between teams Economist: -Builds city (s) -Trades -Aquires resouces for military -View: normal Tactition: -Command spawned troops -Purchaces defences -Orders what units to be spawned -View: normal ??? Help Us Out Here... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What members are needed: -Triggerers -Terrianers -JASSer's -Unit creators ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Current members: LegolasArcher --Triggerer ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Army Specs -Aliance: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If more people get interested ill post some more info. [edit] Added basic Army specs |

Sounds cool. Im good at making terrain, but I need time, which I dont have, sports, homework, school (junior year). I could make a map, depends on what you want. Anyway... I gotta go, l8r The only problem I see happening with this map is the tactitian and "builder" fighting over recources. unless the "builder" gives teh tactition recources, then yea, this map could be pretty cool. |

Essentenally what ever the builder gets the tactiction gets th esame amount- ie its doubled so both have an equal amount. The tactiton commands the troops and buys upgrades to changed what units are spawned/how many- along with building defences and commanding troops Army Specs -Aliance: ---Relies on a fewer expensive/high tech units ---Expensive ---Higher quality -Orcish Clans ---Excellent melee ---Average priced ---Good defenses -Undead Hoard ---Great spellcasters ---Relies on numbers ---Corrupting spells Another update! Ive decided to let the warriors to enter ANY unit owned by you team and control him in 3rd person :) |

Update #2 Okay. Ive started on the control of the warriors. Ive got the selection of any unit down, and am perfecting it now. |

This sounds like a REALLY good map, with a LOAD of potential, mate. I can trigger a lot for you, to easen it a bit and take some of the stuff off of your shoulders. I also am a really good brainstormer and gameplay-idea-cracker. I usualy do give out very harsh critisism thougth, but if I wont, then who will? Anyway, explain to me what difference the Warriors do when they control a unit, unlike when the Tactician controls all of them? And I hope that you've made them walk automaticly without HAVING to move them, else being the Tactician will be excessivly boring. The Economist is to build cities, then I ask how ? Are you going to have spots to place certain buildings and have some kind of text and/or dialog (You know pop-up boxes with options) system for this and then simply place the buildings in pre-placed squares? This would be cool and be a new sort of combat-tactics unlike having a builder building structures anywhere you'd like. You could however be able to more customize your defence then to just place it on set places, but that could be discussed later. Another great thing with the Economist would be if he could control the resources given to the Tactician, which would mean the Economist would be a vital part in the play and a key player. If the Economist makes the wrong decition in terms of putting money in to the army or the city/cities it could lead to serious setbacks or even worse, defeat. But I still can't figure out why the Warriors are there? If they control any unit from the army, then they can walk around anywhere they'd like. I can see that, yes. But then what? They wont be better figthers, and they would easily de-route and weaken the offensive force. So if you haven't thougth this out lay down your initial ideas and I'll go over them. What I mean is the wariors basically "become" any unit- and that unit becomes a hero, gets powred up, and it controlled by a warior before he dies. These are the hero units. Also (possibly) they could type somrthing like "-Hold", "-Attack", "-Guard" and units around him will cary his commands. |

yeah i can do triggers and terrain. I'm kinda curious what kind of terrain your looking for? Style *less room more lag* Efficiancy *less detail more open space or cliffs* If you still want my help PM me. |

Basicly you're saying that being a Warrior is shitboring, it's a lot of running and every guy you control on the map (If you "take him") becomes a hero instead of a regular man? It's a really crappy idea for the Warrior. The other two roles with my ideas said about them above, ROCKS, but the warriors need some kind of other strategic role. I mean, you could have them take over a unit, but it wouldn't be much fun for them to walk around and yell hold position, charge ect... We got to figure out something else they could do. You could replace one warrior with a "Trainer". When the Tactician decides to put more men into training, the Trainer guy will actually train them on course. Exactly how he's supose to do this we can solve later. But it would be a fun task to have him train troops, after the Tactician has assigned the troops to him. This way all three have an important role. And this way you could have 4 teams. If you still want a warrior on top of this, we need to change HIS role a bit. Like he could maybe take over a builder and thus speed up building progress and a lot of other small things he could do except just taking over an offensive guy of your team and run with him. Regards Dead-Inside Edit: PS. If you have MSN or ICQ, PM to me. Or if not, PM your mail incase the forums go down or something ;) - Maybe we should request a map forum? DS. |

Lets just forget the warrior for now. I can terrien, but Im wa to detailed for an online map. We need average amount of room and average detailed. Ill post more in a few hours Also, my idea for the warrior was to give the n00bs a position where there helpful (Third person shooting, insane damage), but they coulnt completely screw the game over if they sucked- or were team killers. I know on these boards no one would want to play that position but think about the land of the idiots aka Battle.net where people leave if they have to think. That trainer sounds like a good idea, but could you explain it a little more? |

Well, I was thinking of the trainer as some role that would train troops, exactly how I don't know. There's a number of options, - One would be that he could take "untrained" troops and assign them to different "posts" (Such as archer, footmen, pikemen, ect), and possibly they would build in different speeds and cost a set amount eatch. - The other one would be to basicly upgrade troops, and by upgrading you first pay with the money the Tactician gave you, and then you "do some mission" with one or several units, to complete some task or whatever. - Third way would be to simply upgrade weapons. That's all I can think of now, any ideas would be open since I clearly need to brainstorm this with someone. Regards Dead-Inside |

We have decided to have "minigames" for the trainer. For example the Movement speed would be a race, attack a shooter, etc |

He meant to type "Trainer" ;). |
