I know this couldn't be done in SC, but can it in war3? Probably not....if not, how would i go about making a cinematic for a map before you can play it, without it being the same map? |

If would have to be the same map. You could just make it a place where you can't go, i.e. map boundary. You can't link maps on b-net |

Guest | have you tried it? i works in theory... |

Guest | How does it work in theory? Once a game ends, everyone is automatically disconnected. |

Guest | However, you can link maps in multi-player, it works, yet I don't know if it works in bnet, but I think it should, the only problem that's everyone must have linked maps, I don't think that they will be automaticly downloaded when linked map is called. |

Guest | Exactly! I've tested it and it works. And I think that it's possible to link maps in bnet as long as all maps are placed in their right directories. It works on LAN, why it shoudn't work on bnet? I'll figure it out as fast as I can, I'll make test maps and give it to my bnet friend and we'll test it. Let's say that whole RPG project consists of main map and different submaps (mostly underground) and all these maps are placed in maps/war3rpg directory, so we can link them in through the triggers. It'll work until all players have all maps right in the maps/war3rpg directory. I've seen a trigger used to check files (probably returns false if it'll not find a required file, still don't know, but will find out), may be it can be used to check files and if someone doesn't have all the maps it'll say something about it, like "download all files from that url"... |

All Players are diconected after b-net maps. I'm not saying that it definantly won't work if all players have same maps/same folders, I'm just saying it's not very likely. |

Guest | Yes, it might be not likely for some people because they'll need to download from the other source. Currently I'm making RPG with this feature, because if the map would be even 512x512 size, some parts (sublevels, somehow managed to be in that main map) will look very ugly with the limited tileset and blah blah blah. You know very well, that good RPG looks good until you'll eneter "sublevel", basicly just a sealed part of the map, placed somewhere at the corners. That's not a way for me! |
