DeadlyDrizzt	i guess the easiest way would be to just make the skin greyscale then erase everything but the borders of the objects so you can tell where to edges of things are like legs and arms

Oxalic	I say just wing it. Improve what sux. Then you can rock. For me i started out doing re-color and small time editing. The whole stratch takes a lot of good art, creativity, and time. If your dedicated you can do it. If it's a hobby you do sometimes you might not want to go so hard.
