Help on animating

I have been trying to animate a cannon so that the wheels rotate when they move, but I can't seem to get the wheels to move around their origin, they want to rotate around some point that I have no idea why it is there. Does anyone know how to tell 3ds max what the origin for a model is?

This sometimes happens and to move the "pivot point" you need to go to the tab which i don't remember the name of, not motion, not modifyer, not the basic create one, but...somethine like "hiearchi" or sumtin :P lol, i forgot

anyways, when there, you just need to press the button named "affect pivot point", and then with the bone-object selected you'll see a different pivot point that you can now move like you would move any other model.

Just move it to the center of the wheel or whatever you like, if you rotate, it will always rotate around that point.
