I don't understand you... are you trying to put your skin into the world editor? if so convert the .TGA file into a .BLP and then go to import manager. Then typer the file path and should be good.

Ok you want an icon in?

Non-Animated Icon
1. Extract icon .tga
2. Edit .tga
3. Import .tga keep file path

Animated Icon ( Example footman, would be his helm moving to left of stats\ information)
-Based on the model

Skin
1. Extract and convert to .tga
2. edit .tga
3. conver .tga to .blp
4. import .blp

You don't replace a .mdx(model file) with a skin, a .blp isn't just an icon file it is also a texture file, so it goes over skins. To put your skin over the unit you got it from:

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TFT THIS METHOD WILL NOT WORK

1. Import the .blp into World Editor through

2.Right click the file and select Modify File Properties.

3. Check the "Use custom path" box.

4. Change "war3imported/(yourfilename)" to the path of the unit you skinned's original path(e.g. Units/Orc/Peon/Peon.blp).

5. Test it in game and see if it works.

For an icon file (in TFT) though all you have to do is go into the Object Editor, then go to the Unit/Ability/w.e who's icon you want to change and go to Art-Icon-(Game Interface, normal, etc.), double click it and look at the imported box, which should show a .blp you imported, the click that select the .blp you want to replace the icon with and click Ok. After that test it in-game and you're done.

If you think your .blp file can replace a .mdx(model file), it CANNOT, and you CANNOT get it to, just so you know to stop trying that.

Good luck.
