Should the Offtopic forum be removed?

For me personally, it ruins the site. People become unfocused. I know Ill get the reply that yeah if theres no offtopic people will spam in the forums. Correct, and spammers are banned. If people want to talk about stuff like religion and politics this is completely the wrong place.
I guess if the no beats the yes, well perhaps its a sign that most people here arent focused modders anymore.

I've noticed that post activity in Map Development has dropped down considerably of recent, and post responses in the Artist Corner is nearly non-existant. That's problematic, because both of those should be the MOST productive forums on this site, given that it's a site dedicated to map development.

If I could make a humble recommendation - the mods should be more involved in discussion. The mod list drop down lists 5-6 mods per forum, but I honestly can't remember a time where I've seen the majority of them ever post. Deleting spam, locking threads and moving posts are all useful, and I shudder to think what the place would look like without their vigilance, but unless the embers of discussion are stirred from time to time, reducing the number of forums won't help keep things going.

I agree that the Off-topic forum should be removed for now. I don't even go there at all and I think it's just a waste of space and it distracts from Modding.

However, I guess it depends how many votes this poll gets.

you aren't married to WC3C, if you want to mod, talk here, if you want to talk about where you came from, find another forum and visit there as well.

if you guys can get the mayority to vote for yes, then offtopic is removed. The mayority of the admin /mods are wondering why we have off topic in the first place, but the Core decided to leave it there because:

people who post in offtopic will go nuts or think it is ****.
Also they think it could act like a renegade zone.

Anyways, if mayority dislikes the offtopic and the people that post there as well (also dislike it)....then offtopic is a goner...it all depends on you guys...so get them to vote!

Easy way to get more votes, main page. I think the question is a little more crucial than the tutorial one...

I disagree that OT stops people from working; thier own work ethic will stop them from working. However, I do see a lot of nonsense there and a lot of spammers. You can seriously go and read almost any post and find some justifiable reason to close it.

NO more threads about wether a forum should be removed. If you don't like it or don't find it useful, just ignore it.
