[glow=strengh=10,color=black]Anyone know if WOW is using blp. and mdx. files? If they do, that would allow a lot importing from WOW and make it easier for people who need new WC3 type models.[/glow] emote_confused |

They might well use the .BLP format, but I doubt that they'd use .MDX for models. Besides, Warcraft 3 couldn't handle WoW models even if they were in the right format. |

in short... Nope, they won't. That's even one of the reasons they "could" release their art toolz to us...if it was still being used in WoW, it would be a fully operating and "in-use" graphical engine/system. But it's solely becouse they have turned this format down, that we get the art-toolz. They had also announced this some time ago anyhow (that they would be using a modified/new graphics engine) Cubasis |

this ofcourse is nonsense... if you COULD take a model out of WOW into max and export it right, u can get it into wc3. polycount etc isnt really an issue. the only but would be that u cant mass display them as it would take up too much CPU power. it all comes down to your system, theres not really more to it... |

erm... no Do you realise how high polies these models would be and the quality of the skins. You would barely get one.... |

the same model, and more, can be displayed at once in the wow engine. so if ur machine can do this it can also display it in another program such as wc3. i know wc3 isnt optimized at all for this so it cant do many characters, but im pretty sure at least 5... |
