This idea just crossed my mind when we were talking aout Roman empire in history class. Has anybody tried to do the thingy called 'turtle formation', like the one in Asterix? If not, is anybody interested to try this? See, i think the TF would be nice for human footmen, as a researchable ability. So basicly, it would be 10 footmen forming a box with their shields. So it would require just the formation model, (basicly a box with quality skinning) some animation to it (so it doesn't look like some stupid inanimated moving box...:ggani: ) and some triggering. I'm throwing this idea to the open, cause I'm too noob to make this myself, and i'm hoping to actualy see this in the game. But if yer not interested, i guess there is nothing i can do about it... |

Well the Roman opposition never had Blizzard, Flamestrike, Infernal or any other AOE spells and the fact that those wars were almost fought on the ground without air units I would say this wouldn't be an ideal formation to have in the game ;) |

I can think of plenty of times when it'd be useful. I'm gonna try doing it without modelling, just triggers. No THAT would be cool. |
