I've been trying to make a RPG map, and I ran into this very annoying problem: I took the Flame Strike ability and renamed it Fireball. I altered the values to make the burst more damaging over a shorter period of time, which worked. Now, the problem is that I want to change it so that instead of the flames just appearing at the target point, I want the hero to fire a projectile (Searing Arrow animation or Archmage attack) that hits the target area, and THEN explodes. I've managed to remove the "charging" effect of the Flame Strike, and I added some projectile animations to the ability through the World Editor, but nothing I've tried has worked! It still just appears out of no where, without any projectile. Does anyone know how to do this? |

As flame strike is no missile ability you'll have to go with triggers. one possibility is to create a invisible caster unit and let it fire the missile when the spell is cast |

give the unit the "flamestrike abil" base it off of firebolt event-unit is target o spell(sumtin like that) condition-speel equal flame strike abil action-create flame guy(has the flame strike abil) order him 2 cast the abil on the targeted unit remove last created unit from the game |

Or you could just give the hero the Blood mage passive skill Sphere and change the sphere animation to searing arrows. The Searing arrows won't fly around the hero's head, but it'll fly to the ground when you cast a spell. (I tried this with Orb of Corruption shot animation, and the same thing happened, but it didnt work with some other things, so I'm not really sure if this'll work with searing arrows.) |
