Making Good Faces for skins

Hello, I'm starting to bulid my own skins from scratch, and I'm having a really hard time making my faces. Could someone give me a few pointers, or a tutorial on how to make faces for my skins? Please don't respond with "Use Burn and Dodge, stupid Newbie!". That's like me asking how to build a house, and you responding with "With a hammer, stupid!". Cheers.

look at a picture for reference. and use dodge and burn (lol) to mark out the lines, and lines of rinkles and tiredness (if he is tired)
