There are lot's of unrealistic things in lots of projects, but I'll start a list. You guys can try to pick it up. :bgrun: 1. A small village is guarded by professional guards with perfectly clean armor. In real life, the armor of footmen would be so rusty you could stick your finger through it. 2. During a thunderstorm, guards wearing full armor don't seem fazed. Sure, metal attracts lightning, but the guard's just stand there as if nothing is going on. Not to mention that the guard's armor would be visiblyrusting in the rain, the smell would be so bad the people in the village would die. (I gurss that's what helped Alpheus navigate the forest to the town; he could smell it well before he could see it). 3. The guradsman controlling the gate happily opens it as a crazy man on a goat comes charging in saying "Open the gate! Open the gate!" Most local guards at that time probably wanted bribes for simple admittance into villages, not to mention they wouldn't want to be pushed around. 4. When it starts pouring down rain, the simple villagers begin running for there homes, but the nobles (who happen to just be walking around without any protection) just stand there and stare at it. 5. Because Darius enjoys talking to himself, he stands around covered in blood and stares at the wall. He is so tied up with his figuring, it takes him a minute to realize that he can break the wall. 6. The purpose of towers is for shooting arrows. Of course, these large stone towers just sit there, vacant, while the orcs freely stroll up to the gate with their battering rams and break down the gate. No offence of course. Just wanted to make it a little fun. :ggani: |

Lol. # 1 and 2 - The armor wouldn't rust that fast lol. Besides I'm going to reskin the footman in the final version to be a bit less royal looking. # 3 - The local people are well aware of who Alpheus is, and they respect and trust him. # 4 - You must realize, that they do move. If you look closely, they look towards the rain, face each other again, and then the camera moves by. After which they move. # 5 - I think you would be a bit daunted if your whole village had just been slaughtered. # 6 - The attack came so soon, nobody really had much time to get in the towers. Wouldn't help much either, the ram would still knock down the gate in 10 seconds. And there were so many orc catapults, it would be better to have the men on the ground then in the towers. |

[quote]Originally posted by Iron_Ian # 3 - The local people are well aware of who Alpheus is, and they respect and trust him. That's why he has to explain to Darius that he is a druid who lives in the mountains. (And his name is Alpheus) :ggani: Lord Morren's guard really seemed to respect Alpheus. They were the closest of friends. :ggani: Quote:
Forgot. Lord Morren's minispeech was more important than getting ready for a big defence. :ggani: |

Forgive me, heh. I just love to poke some fun at projects I really like. :ggani: |

Did you ever think that I was going to change the crappy script?? :ggani: The guard was just pissed off because of the rain. Alpheus didn't personally know Darius. He doesn't regularly visit the city. But most of the people are aware of who he is, and that he is a friendly old druid. |

Lol. Finding a reason for everything aren't you. :bgrun: If the city just emerged from a long drought, why exactly would the guard be pissed? :ggani: |

You chose not to acknowledge that last post I see. Good choice, or else this debate would have never ended. :ggani: And why don't you post some pics of yourself? :gsmile: |

Lol no, I just forgot about it :ggani: Even after a drought, I still wouldn't want to be standing out in a thunderstorm :bgrun: Plus eventually it will rust his armor (not immediately like you were saying, but after the storm, in a couple hours a bit of rust would start to form) Also I forgot to mention the Shinengua footmen will be getting a new skin. There armor will be a bit dulled rather then the shiny silver armor of default footman :ggani: |

Then they'll have no reason to be pissed about the rain. :ggani: |

I said 'dulled' not 'rusted'. Their armor is going to be a greyish color. If armor rusts, it turns crappy brown. In yo face :D |

If the guards have faded armor, apparently its seen some bad weather. I still don't get why he would be pissed. If I had to carry around iron on my back all day I'd get really thristy. Lol this'll never end. :ggani: |

When Darius is on top of the hill, making his little speech about how he'll avenge the people of the village, and looks back on the burning village, there is an archer just standing there in the middle of it, doing nothing. I thought everyone was killed? |

That glitch only seems to happen every once in a while. If you look about 50 seconds before when the camera is scrolling through the city, you will see three orcs beating up on two archers (or something like that) Sometimes the archers get lucky and kill the only orc that is attacking one of the archers, and she lives. I'm gonna fix it in the final version for sure. (It will be trigged to kill her just to make sure :ggani: ) |
