'The Darklords Rule'

Dead-Inside
Hello, some of you know me, most of you don't. I'm Dead-Inside and I was an active triggerer before. These days I don't work much with WC3 over all, but I do have a project on hold. Which I will finish in the future, called STFU Arena. (See signature, might not be up to date fully).

I'm thinking about starting a new project, where I would lead those who work with me and pull all the strings, as well as make up the story (It's already done, but the mission-stories aren't).

Here's my notepad writings:
The Darklords Rule - A story-campaign by Dead-Inside

The vast planes, once home to the kingdom of Faladia, now lie in darkness. For the Darklords has been to this world,
this once beautiful place. Home to the most facinating animals of the universe. The day the sky rained fire,
the day the ground was painted red... The day the kingdoms defenders fell in to the hand of the living dead. It all
ended with the beginning of The Darklords Rule.

-= The World =-
- The former Kingdom of Faladia, now home to the Darklords
- The outcast villages of Newinlect
- The Kingdom of Yamatan
- Alliance of the western kingdoms
- Desert Planes
- Icebridge
- The resistance
- The olam villages
- The great kingdom of Kazador
- The planes of Kazador
- The knights field
- Tamak'Tel, home to the Tamars (Intelligent animals)
- Kolamkaz, unclaimed land to the south

-= The basic story =-
The day of doom for the Faladian Kingdom had come. The worlds greatest kingdom was about to fall, not to another
kingdom, but to evil itself... To the Darklords. The Darklords rule not only the dead, but also the element of fire.
In the great books of Izadar, a long lost nation of divine soldiers that protected the world against evil, it is
written that the Darklords would never admit defeat, they would come back to cease control over the world once and
for all. After the battle at Famaldan, now known as the knights field, the Darklords were undone. The people of
Izadar found their purpose in this world to be done, and disapeared with their nation just as mysteriously as they
once had come. The world was once more threatened by the Darklords... Threatened of becoming minions under The Darklords
Rule...

-= Missions Include (Without revealing story too much) =-
- Traveling a lot trough the different places on the world map
- Making allies and binding people together
- Surviving the wilderness that still thrives outside of former Faladia
- Survivng the Darklords repeated attempts at taking over the worlds inhabbitants
- Gigantic battles and tactical decitions

-= Mission List =-
Mission 1: The Roar Of Battle
Description: The villagers of Kazador are taking to arms and are becoming out of control. King Theremos has no other
option then to strike down the panicstruck people.

------------------

The only mission done yet.
If you'd like to join, tell me if you work triggers, terrain, spells or any other things (We might want to do models but it's not necesary, neither is skinning, but if someone offers then sure.)

I hope you all like the idea, latez.

Edit: Oh yes, there is also an opening (IF THIS PROJECT HITS OFF) to make graphics for loading-screens, and this would be in the form of maps. As well as a map that you could, alternativly, look on during missions (aka, the hero you play carries the map). So if you're an artist and can draw WC3-styled maps, then feel free to yell in for the position.

Does ANYONE feel like reading trough my first post and actually give me a VIEWPOINT at least?

It's a sound idea, but a LOT of work, as with most campiagns. But, nothing really leaps out and makes me say 'I want to be part of this'.

Yes, well... I notice that. Anyway, I have a lot already planned out (Mission and maywise). I also begun some on the first map, just as example map. You arrive from a valley, which you've walked in from the kingdom. Now, you (I haven't settled on a name for the hero) and a number of troops must strike down the resistance. After you've done it, you proceed to do whatever. Soon you find yourself deserting the King to find allies on other places of the world, thus meeting new enemies.

But I do believe most people doesn't even read trough the first post.

Sounds very ambitious. A friend of mine, Shingu, was recently trying to continue his also ambitious 'Era of War' universe. Due to a lack of support and interest, he cancelled his work. This seems like the same to me, to be honest.
It takes a lot of extra-work to do a non-WC3 universe campaign too (You have to establish how it's different and more), and most starting campaigns these days struggle to just do that.

Uhm... Who said this wasn't going to be using WC3 stuff? I didn't even plan any necessary skinning. And modeling is only going to be done if someone really wants to, not like I need it. I got all the units I need in WC3 already (And TFT!). It's basicly just a bunch of maps with a REALLY good story.

Adding to that, you want something that appeals to people. Campaigns are a LOT more work, and generally less played (even if they have replayability). But, what do you want to achieve?

If you are perseverant and produce work, peole like to see screenshots, or even try demo versions. That's what attracts people. I worked solo on my mod for 5 weeks before anyone really noticed.

I said a 'non-WC3 universe' as in it doesn't take place in Blizzard's established one - you're doing something completely new but in the same engine and editor (It'd be nearly stupid if I said that on here, a WC3 forum :P).

By saying it takes a lot more work to do something outside the WC3 universe, it doesn't apply to this campaign. So please why do you have to trick people?

Anyway, I was going to do this as simple as possible. The thing is that I really really suck at terraining. I do ideas and I do excellent triggering, but my terrain is terrible. So, thus, I can't really show much. And as I said, only you two actually read trough the first post...

All I wanted to do was make a series of maps which play out the stories and the final fall of the darklords (These kinda need to be skinned when I think about it, but I know a real nice skinner so that's no problem anyway, could be done in a day ;)). The map number would probably be 10 to 13, and they wouldn't be hard to do. There's nothing TIME CONSUMING taking place until it is actually done, then we can skin, balance, edit, enchance, ect.

Well, I'd need 3 or more, depending on how many the Darklords actually are, I was planning 3. But, let's see if someone ACTUALLY READS THE FIRST POST, first... And maybe drops a reply?

Anyway, you're down for the skinning of the Darklords themselves if you wish.
