First of:

- I don't know if this has been posted before on the site but I ask anyway.

I am starting out and exploring the world of modeling ^^

My problem is:

I created a model in Wings3D and got texture on it, and made it look reasonable.
I saved it as 3ds, and now I am stuck?! I have no idea what so ever on how to get it in-game...

I know I have to get it to .mdx format but how? I don't have 3dsmax...
Someone please tell me how to get it in-game and working...

Maybe you shouldnt save it as 3ds couse you dont have it

Can your program save models as MDX format?

You need someone with max to help you convert them into mdx. There are no plugins for Wings yet that turns models into mdx. You have to send the 3ds (max scene) to someone with max and ask im to turn into mdx.

Hmm... Very sad since I know no one that has 3dsmax with working art tools :bgrun:

But anyway thanks for the help Cookie!

Yes you do! I'm sitting right here. Send me your model and I'll get it ingame.

Hehehe Cookie...

Faxmaster: Thanks for your genourus offer, but I found a converter that can convert from obj/3ds to mdx!

So now my problem is solved!
I thank everyone who replied to this thread...

no, your problems will start

the converter you are mentioning is by daishi, but that tool was NEVER finalised and lacks in all sides.

I suggest still to get a 3d studio max bitch =P

cookie, you're so funny.

Remember, the converter doesn't do animation (as far as I know).

I used to use it until I got an edu license on Max 5.
