Some people probably know about this already, but i think its such a nice feature, that i will just point it out. Can be great when making cinematics and such. What I did was to change the Art - Replaceable Texture file in object editor to a different terrain. With this I can change the trees leavetype, while the tree form remains the same.. I think its nifty Works bad with the mushroom treewalls thought |

Another thing about trees is that it can be wise to check the Art - Fog Visibility to true. This will prevent the tree from just popping out of thin air when you are exploring, but rather be a part of the map, like a stone. It also make them visible in fogged maps, like the barrens tree (indestructible) in the Orc campaign. But i guess this rather belongs on regular mapping then cinematic. Can this idea be used to change the textures of units or doodads? This is something I really would like to be able to do. Also could you possibly better explain where you go to replace the tree thing? For some reason I didn't notice the texture place in object editor (maybe I didn't look in it long enough) Also where do you get info on changing models? I want to be able to change the models of units to different shapes and stuff but I was told you need photoshop to do it. Anyone got info on that? |

this works specificly on tree doodads. what you do is to enter the object editor, then go to the destructibles section. Select a tree type, scroll down the stats until you see the Art - Replaceable texture file. Here you can select the "leaf" type of whatever terrain you want. No photoshop, no messy import/export, just worldedit ;) I dont think it works for other things then trees. |

Actually it does work for other doodads, such as bridges, rolling stone doors, and certain gate destructibiles like the "City Entrance" gate. This feature is very cool! |

Actually i did notice, I was just looking through my profile and happend to find this old thread, and when I read it this time I figured out how to use the tree feature. The first time I didn't have much time to read it, so I read fast and assumed it was another skin/model import thing. Other than that, I won't be posting anymore messages to continue it further. P.S. This is a job for Riddler. You just HAD to get batman involved didn't you... |

Screw Batman! Its time for... MODERATOR!!! ^_^ ^_^ You shouldn't ressurect old threads... I'll excuse it this time, but don't let me catch you doing it again. <CloSed> |
