WTF? wc3campaigns.com gave my email address away?

Just Got A new email address from my ISP. (changed my connection account and with that i got new email address). Never used it before. I've created a new account ,here, at wc3campaigns.com and a day after i got a SPAM email emote_sweat (the one where a dude from south Africa asks for my bank account number... yeah right).

now where did that spamer found my email address if not from here? and no... i don't have spyware in my PC. i check it every 2 months and i've checked be4 i created this thread.

Is your email hotmail? couse if so i get spam too on there

Noone gave your email address away, but there is an "Email" ()
button on every user's post, so its posible thats how he got it if you say you have no spyware.


To hide it, go to your userCP, edit options and turn the "Hide email address" option on.

if you choose to email someone you sent an email throu the forums not via outlook, so you can't my email.

i have a hotmail acc but i don't receive spams there. i'm using it only for my msn.

we dont give anyone your emails, wc3c a not-for-profit, you dont see any ads here. It's possible as the other user suggested that our members email's got harvested by a spammers bot.

ok i disabled the email option. I hope those spams stop now.
and gice some warning to other users to disable their too

lol i get 40 spam emails a day! i use a junkmail filter that i programed myself to alocate them into a junkmail folder (when im using the email on my webserver).

i never told anyone that email.

its called l.i.v.e w.i.t.h i.t :P junkmail is PART of email (i know thta sounds stupid, but its true.)


(btw: stoned, how are you guys not bankrupt yet? i mean, look at your bandwidth usage alone! and the HD space u need, and the size and power of the mysql database server emote_sweat (this is not a retorical question))

stoned pays, he gets a discounted price becasue he works at the webhosting company where this site is hosted, i believe it is somewhere around 100 dollars a month.
