Good job. You've moved to the next step in making an MMORPG.

There are some bugs. Like having more then one hero.

i heard its been done on bnet... i dont know if its an hoax but hell, if we can...... try to find an everquest map that does it, ive been told theres an EQ map out there that successfully caches on bnet

Maybe the everquest map was only for beta? Since beta did allow us the use of game caches for multiplayer.

no, its a very recent map

I think bnet cache is just handled differently, and no one figured out how it worked yet. Has anyone actually thought of asking blizzard themselves?

Yes, they've said that it can't be used and the cache is cleared for security reasons.

In lan, do caches work? If they do just make a server from that.

ppl say that in lan it work =)

but MMORPG is not possible unless blizzard use map linking in bnet and just game in between as a option =) and also cache

its possible without map linking actually..... you can make like 480x480 maps... uhm, can I say lag? heh... well anyways it'd be better than nothing at all.

i think in next patch or the one after they might add something that lets you use game caches on b.net

Ive done much research on game caches on and off of bnet.

Of course game caches dont work on bnet. Im not sure about LAN, but bnet games just act as if something is one map. I did this with 2 comps, and when I went into another map, but let one of my computers stay behind it said "so and so is victorious". and the unit was succeffully gone, and my computer was loading the map, while the other could still freely use the first. Yet, once this happens the connection with the other player is broken because bnet looks only for a victor and a loser for each map and thus, breaks the connection between players. Because once I tried to go back to my other map-zone, I found I was in the same map as my other computer, but a computer ally had takened his place and my other computer was all alone in the same map.

Reason why map-zoning (using cache) does not work on bnet is because once you leave one map, it goes from a MP game to a SP game.

I dunno how blizz would find a way to make it possible to play MMORPG like games on bnet, but I guess anything is possible.

I have a problem that you might be able to help me, if you can pls do!

I made my own, personal-fun purpose mod for me to use in campaigns, all those skills and units worked, but i really need help on saving the game cache, after i add my own files the campaign wouldn't save the game cache for me, if it loads up no previous item and no previous skills too, it's on the normal human campaign, this only occurs when i add custom skills, can someone help me in this part?
