Modelling/Art Tools questions

I've got a couple of questions to do with both basic modelling and the Art Tools.

1) What is the difference between a Sphere and a Geosphere?

2) I'm running a legal setup of 3DS Max 4.2 that my dad got for his work. I downloaded the art tools, and installed them with no problems. How do I get their features working?

3) Assuming that it is set up properly, in the guide it talks about a User Property Editor. In Max, if you go into the Object Properties window and click the User Defined tab, it as a text box. Is this supposed to be where the User Property Editor is? Or am I completely wrong?

4) If I'm right about 3), what do I need to do to get the Art Tools working properly?

Thanks for your help!

Art tools install into your max directory...
so open windows explorer, go to your max directory.. and look for the War3 Art tools folder in there...

It has a pdf called Art Tools documentation...
take 4 hours and read through all 30 pages or however long it is...it tells you how to do almost everything...

Answers:
1) sphere makes a "mathematical" sphere, divided into lines of lattitue and longitude like a globe...all made of 4 sided polys
Geosphere makes an "organic" sphere, kinda like a soccer ball using different size polygons depending on the detail level you select...

2)the features are plugins for max... click the Utilities hammer in the top right of the screen to bring up tools and then click MORE and then at the bottom you will see War3 preview.. and User Properties....
those are from blizzard....
you can create BlizzParticle and BlizRibbon effects with the Create panel.. Under geometry, click the drop down menu and select particle systems BlizPart is there..or click the Helpers section and under Standard BlizRibbon is there..
For War3 textures press M and change "standard" material type to "Warcraft III"
Finally, when youre done modelling, go to File, Export and change file type to Warcraft 3 model and it will export as .mdx

3) like i just said... go to the Utilities hammer, click more and find user properties... DONT turn anything into an attachment point with it tho! it crashes every time

4)your tools should work properly.. now you need to read to learn how to use them properly!

Hope that helps

Peace,
